Surcounty of Rydant
The Surcounty of Rydant lies on the south-eastern edge of the Grand Duchy of Canyndor, with the Palantar Mountains to the south and east, the Tila river to the north and the Yarrow to the west. The land is mostly agriculture well served by the tributaries of the Tila and Yarrow, commodities such as grain and seeds being some of the greatest exports of the region. Rydant, the capital of the region, lies further upland to the south, somewhat off would be considered suitable trade routes but greatly developed and regionally important due to its heritage. The Kappeli Dynasty who has long ruled in Rydant is greatly credited with the rise to dominance of the settlement over the region, having once been on the periphery of power. The region of the who is now one of the most prosperous in the entirety of the Grand Duchy, many of its inhabitants having more insular beliefs of belonging and adhering to local customs as opposed to more common traditions within the rest of Doria.
