Skirmish of Kinrook

The Skirmish of Kinrook was a small conflict that occurred between the Surcount of Randleton, Matias Torajoki, and some of his bannermen against a disgruntled local militia. The event gained infamy due to the death of Surcount Matias, who was skewered by a pike wielding peasant during the skirmish.
The events that lead up to the unfortunate events at Kinrook ultimately started with the War of the Randles which involved the annexation of the Randles by the Grand Duke of Canyndor, Tapani VII, from the Kingdom of Redoria. Due to excessive taxes levied upon him, Matias had petitioned Grand Duke Tapani to intervene against the King of Redoria. Tapani agreed to this proposal, not only due to his familial links with Matias but also due to the strategic advantage that securing the Randles would offer to the defence of the northern edges of his Grand Duchy.
