Midpoint
Midpoint is the hottest and driest desert of CA2M1, suffering from minimal natural water sources and very scarce rainfall. Like the rest of the moon, Midpoint is a frequent victim of earthquakes, sandstorms and volcanic activity. Though the desert climate and limited water is not enough to scare off traders and intergalactic smugglers, the turbulent weather has afforded the moon a classification of Danger 5, limiting the number of tourists willing to traverse the hostile land of Midpoint.
Tourism
Most sapient species won't risk visiting a world categorised as Danger 4 or above, leaving exploration and colonisation of these worlds to the few organisations and species who are willing to journey to these dangerous areas. As such, CA2M1, and Midpoint itself, is mostly inhabited by Humans and Human hybrids. Despite this, Midpoint is a hub of trade and welcomes a daily hum of activity.
The Topians control the trade in Midpoint, mostly dealing in the wares and supplies brought in by their own infamous group of intergalactic smugglers.
Water & Life
Though natural water is extremely scare in the scorching heat of Midpoint, it is not considered valuable to the settlers who reside there, as each settlement is equipped with their own H2O generator.
Animals, on the other hand, are considered highly valuable. Since the stifling conditions of Midpoint make it impossible for animal life to flourish naturally, the Topians consider any working animals or companion creatures sturdy enough to withstand the Midpoint climate to be rare and unparalleled commodities, worthy of high prices in trade.
A Den of Thieves
Topia is the capital city of Midpoint, a sprawling expanse of sandstone buildings above ground and a meandering network of caverns crawling beneath ground. Topians, the original settlers of Midpoint, built the underground caverns as a way to safely store their wares out of the reach of weather hazards and nosy law enforcement. Topia is also known as The Den of Thieves, due to the known fact that the majority of residents and traders in the city are (or were) intergalactic smugglers.
