The Gold Company
The special forces unit within the Holy Army of the Church of the One True God. When the church has an important military need, they look to the Gold Company to see it done. Often the arrival of the Gold Company itself is an incredible boost for the morale of the Holy Army. If the Vanar is considered the head and face, the Gold Company could be considered the arm and hand, stretching out to do the bidding of Diavna. Because they have the blessing of the Vanar himself, they are able to act autonomous to the Holy Army and enforce Diavna's justice throughout the human empires. The influence of the Church of Diavna is so great that the company is allowed to act with relative impunity. No human force has ever withstood a heavy cavalry charge from the Gold Company. The Gold Company are seasoned veterans that are just as dangerous on foot as they are on horseback. When the company is in formation at dawn, the sun reflects off their armor with a blinding gold to reflect that their actions are blessed by Diavna himself, and to hurt their enemy's eyes.

History
They were founded by Ector the Pious still in the early years of the church. It was thought that the church needed a fighting force for defense against other hostile religions. As the church's numbers swelled so did their fighting forces and a division was quickly created to differentiate between volunteers and recruits and those who knew what they were doing.
