Knight's Armor of the Deep Abyss
An artifact-level suit of full plate armor made for King Knight of New Hallownest by Daesul and Mithangor.
The armor provides its wearer with a swim speed and great protection against physical and magical attacks, divination, and negative energy. Like the arapaima's eyes, the armor can emit an aura of red light that causes terror in those who get too close.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The armor's plating is built from the eyeless corpse of a near-invulnerable Ruby-Eyed Arapaima and some of the Scales of Despair left by a colossal agony wraith construct. These combine to provide superb nonmagical protective qualities, deflecting everything from physical harm to divination. Miscellaneous mundane but high-quality armor materials fill in the gaps and internals.
History
The Armor of the Deep Abyss was was commissioned with the great artificer Mithangor by King Knight of New Hallownest in August of 23 ARL. It was to be created from materials gathered during a venture into the sunken city of Barashtra by the Shadows of Existence in mid-23 ARL. The details and specifications of the armor were trusted to the creativity of the artificer.
The armor served Knight well for the next six months, warding off blade and spell with impressive ease. When its end came, it was from within, not without; on January 1st, 24 ARL, the archvillain Necrosa detonated Knight's body with a single irresistible spell, and the expulsion of the compressed Void that made up his body rent the armor apart from the inside out. The shattered armor was deemed repairable, but it would need replacement materials of the highest quality to be restored to anything resembling its previous effectiveness.
