Azhar has an exceptional tolerance for pain. Mord-Sith are trained to serve as torturers, and a significant part of that training is being tortured (and learning to withstand torture) themselves.

Personal history

At a young age, Azhar was recruited by the Order of Oblivion and trained (and broken) to be a Mord-Sith, a fanatically obedient warrior who can absorb magic and return it as unimaginable pain for its caster.
Sometime around 13 ARL, when Leithien was first invaded, Buzz Gizmo and Lillith took a mission to drive the invaders out of the Valley of Illusion. Junior's unique sensory abilities allowed them to ignore the illusions, but as they crossed the valley they found Azhar. She was starving, dehydrated, and exhausted, and they made the choice to rescue her.
It was revealed that she was trying to find the same dungeon they were: Her employer, Orb, had stashed a chest there. She and the party teamed up, entered the dungeon, and killed the wizard who was running the place. At a critical point, Buzz killed the villain's horde of summoned monsters just before they could dogpile Azhar. Azhar and Buzz have been "friends" since then. By 23 ARL, they were kind of dating.
