Ultra Mutants

Ultra Mutants are very big humans, with hyper-muscular features and are Vat Grown. They're a major component of Neo-American Armed forces and a pretty common sight in the Rebels too. This is because Ultra Mutants are seen as less than Humans. As if they're stupid but they are simply taught nothing but war since they first emerge into the world. They are beaten, starved and torn to pieces to augment, often without anaesthetic to build their 'character' and endurance.
They were created first in 2043 by Neo America and are thought to be the next stage of humanity or at least their deranged inventor Dr Heisenschnolf, a Crazy Neo Nazi sympathizer and scientist who desired to create the perfect soldier. To this end, he was very close with the Ultra mutants. he could make them strong, tall and durable with generative abilities but he could not make them drones, he could not ensure they were the perfect slave.
No, Ultra Mutants are humans and thus they are just as defiant and free-thinking as anyone and to Dr Heisenschnolf, that was simply irreconcilable despite his best efforts. House commissioned the creation of Ultra mutants and had them serve the military anyway. Figuring that they'd be of use to America anyway.

Biology

Ultra Mutants have hyper regenerative tissue and do not grow old and die. They are biologically compatible with augmentation without the need for any gene treatments or neural links that said they do have neural links. Ultra Mutants naturally have taller and wider structures in their bodies. However they cannot reproduce, that's not to say they're sterile but babies often do not live and when they do they tend to grow up with defects and require a lot of gene treatment, which they often cannot afford.
They are not dumber than Humans but rather are not educated like humans are and must learn a lot of things outside of war and killing on their own. Ultra Mutants can be just as clever and knowledgeable as any human and most ones really do try to be. 
When fatally wounded Ultra Mutants tend to recover faster but a headshot is a headshot, they can still be killed which is why they still require combat gear in order to be safe. Women Ultra mutants tend to be similar in build and muscular toning compared to the Men but they're still Human women and thus could be expected to act in the same diverse ways as men.

Social Treatment

From the Vat Ultra Mutants are promised freedom in return for service, they are tormented quite a bit with their tormentors believing them Stronger and more durable thus rougher treatment is acceptable.  The reason Ultra Mutants serve is that they're brainwashed and ones that disobey get 'reclassified' which means executed and all of their identity is erased. During their service, their treated as expendable formations and are used for high-risk and high-reward operations.
That said, they're not cannon fodder as they are expensive to create. Rather their just the people that government sends when they need something done and don't expect you to come back easily. After Service, they often fall into lives of crime as they are given freedom but nothing else. No sponsorship, no job, no direction and no usable skills. Others end up serving in the Remnant US Military or some other variant of Rebellion. 
Within the Rebellion or crime circles, they find more of a life but sometimes Ultra mutants succeed in opening ventures or as successful mercenaries. Other people tend to treat them with reservation and worry as they are highly upgraded with cybernetics and are often characterized as simple-minded brutes. However other individuals may treat them with kindness and welcome them into their lives.
It's all up to the person but it is safe to say that Ultra Mutants gain no benefit from society.

These are the organizations that employ them the most but they're not the only ones, In reality, just about anyone could buy/recruit them as they are human and really diverse in personality and intelligence.

Ultra Mutants are highly compatible with augments and tend to be the most augmented people around. A lot of them were once soldiers and those who survive military service often get abandoned and tossed aside which often ends up being a bad idea because Ultra Mutants are extremely hard to kill.

Ultra Mutants can be Women and Men and both usually reach up to 6'5 -7'2 in height. Because their so heavily augmented they are often harder to tire and have better immune systems and can last longer without food and water. They often have larger organs, not ridiculously so but in terms of lungs, they can hold their breaths for 3 times as long as any ol' human.

Sometimes Ultra mutants are grown to have larger or more abnormal features. This could be a mistake or intentional depending on who is growing them.
