North Isle

"Not much to look at from a distance, or close up for that matter. Just a jutting mass of rock with two mountains being the most impressive thing about it. Some scraggly trees and shrubs there, and lots and lots of birds. But as a whole, North Isle is unimpressive. The only reason to stop is to visit Gapton to resupply."
- Theosian Imperial Merchant

Geography

Northern most of The Guild Islands. Small and rocky with a extensive docking facility on the north side including warehouses and well defended storage for ship supplies. A trail climbs up to the town of Gapton nestled between two mountains on the isle. Regular donkey carts travel up and down the trail for 5 silver a person. It takes about 45 minutes to get up the winding path.

Ecosystem

A rocky island, one of the few without a volcano. It’s jagged peaks of granite rise up to a high pair of mountains.   Scarce scrub and small trees dot the island. It gets the most heat, dry wind and least rain of all the islands. Even with its lack of volcano, North Isle is lightly populated by the Confederation.

Fauna & Flora

The isle is home to many birds and a species of small island wildcat found on many of the Guild Isles.

Natural Resources

A fresh natural spring is found within the fortress wall at Gapton. Water is stored and provided at a reasonable price. Fishing is decent around the nearby reef, and the fish are turned into salted jerky for supplies.

Tourism

Tourism to the isle is discouraged, but it is open for trade, storage and supply.
