Seahome
When the elves came upon this place, they saw the columns in the sea, the cove, and the many grottos. The natural world seemed to be offering them a the safe haven they desired. And so the elves split into two groups. One set continued south to enter the familiar world of the forested mountains. The other created the town of Seahome, and turned it into the jewel of the Guild Islands.
- Elven historian from Yenisle
Demographics
Most of the inhabitants are Elves who are descendants of the group that fled from Reluria. Some of the store owners are humans or halflings. It is rare to see dwarves or First Folk in this town.
Government
The guild Elsan is the primary family guild in Seahome. As such they also handle governing the town. Officially there is a representative from Ithan acting as a liaison of sorts, but she keeps her nose out of the governing.
Defences
Seahome is well defended. A fortress rests on a jutting cliff along the northern approach to the harbor. Any ship approaching from that side will pass below it. The currents do run north to south, so this is the most common approach to Seahome. Surrounding the entrance of the harbor are the lovely basalt columns. Many of these are towers and residences. it is rumored that when pressed into service various chains and other obstructions can be pulled up between the columns. The harbor itself houses ships of the Mercenary Guild that are tasked with patrolling Yenisle and its waters. It is also well known that a number powerful magic users reside in Seahome and would spring to its aid if needed.
Industry & Trade
Wood both common and rare is shipped from Seahome after it is taken by skilled foresters on the isle. Smaller shipments of cloth and books (typically based around history of the island as well as tales of Yeno from Verdon are shipped from here.
Demand for skins and furs is high in this town (+2). Sellers of pigments and dyes can often make a good amount of money here as well (+4).
Infrastructure
The cove at Seahome is divided into two parts, one for merchant vessels dealing with trade. The other handling the navy ships that protect Yenisle. There are roads leading from Seahome to the fortress overlooking the harbor as well as roads to the Summer Palace that rests behind and above town.

Tourism
As a rule most tourism of The Guild Islands is focused on Trader's Island and the main city of Ithan. But Seahome is a place renowned for its beauty and relaxing atmosphere. Ithan is considered the trading hub, but Seahome is considered the vacation spot. Elves in particular are drawn to the spot, and marvel at the ways their folk have adapted to life with the ocean.
Still the elves of Seahome are Guildsmen and women first and foremost. They will never turn away a chance to make some coin. This means that tourists are never turned away, but welcomed to enjoy their time and spend their coin. The jewelry of Seahome (especially the pearls and coral) are famous around both the Guild Islands as well as the Iri Islands.
Architecture
Like most elven architecture, Seahome is a merging of the natural world with the practicalities of life. Many of the homes build into the basalt cliffs and towers melt right into it, only giving away the appearance of a dwelling with some delicate scrollwork around doorframes and windows. Seahome is always a surprise to visitors as there are many more dwellings than first appears from a distance. The main exceptions to this are the fortress and Summer Palace. Both are made of local stone, but both are also obviously fortified locations meant to impress the viewer with their size and stature.
Geography
Most of Seahome is built on basalt cliffs. Extending out into the waters around the town are columns of basalt rising up from the sea bed. The columns can tower up to nearly 100 feet at their tallest. It takes an experienced captain to navigate the waters around the columns. The town is built into a grotto beyond the cove, with buildings and paths formed from the living rock.
Natural Resources
Wood grows in abundance on Yenisle and much of it is sent here to be exported. The seas around Seahome are filled with sea life. Fishing is done but mostly for the town itself and rarely exported. However there are rich pearl beds and coral growing on the local reefs that can be made into lovely jewelry.
