God of Peacocks Yung Pagoni
Protection of women and effeminate men, guardian of sex workers and prostitutes, sex and love, platonic love, romantic love, guardian against unwanted marriages.
Cosmetics, peacock feathers, rings, brushes, roses, whale pipes, incense, jewelry
Yung loves mortals deeply, and not just in the sense that all gods do in that they rely on them for power. They are considered a protector of mortals in general but especially to those who are the most vulnerable. Yung doesn't demonstrate their well known power often and prefers to sit back and allow mortals to shape their lives with the same freedom they had to do so. When it comes to other gods, however, they allow a much more vicious side show and frequently bully lesser gods into keeping their conflicts contained- or else risk Yung's personal involvement in the matter.
Physical Description
Yung is quite tall and slender, with very little muscle. Their hair is extremely long and often pinned up with long curling segments framing their face. They also often wear quite a lot of makeup, often shimmering eyeshadows. Their divine form, like their mortal form, displays their vitiligo.
Yung is well known for having often exaggerated eye make up, usually eye shadow, in purple, green, and gold.
Yung has vitiligo, mostly across their back and shoulders in pale speckled patches. It shows across Yung's mortal and divine forms, and often worked into the god's own sense of style and a point of beauty. Yung also has a mole under their right eye.
Yung is an exceedingly powerful user of
Wind Mana, excelling in using it for practical and combative purposes. They can conjure storms, tornadoes, and even hurricanes at will, change the air pressure, and fashion massive gusts of wind at will to a terrifying degree of accuracy and precision. Perhaps the only user of this magic on the same level as Yung is Ryou, the god of wind herself, who has given him access to many of her own abilities. It is said his control over the winds comes as easy to him as breathing, and should he ever be faced in combat, one can only hope to win on sheer luck alone.
The god is also a master of other forms of magic, and quite fond of magic weaving, using it to fashion clothing for themself and others, most notably their priests. Items made by Yung themselves are quite uncommon to come by and usually incredibly expensive, donned only for ritual use or found in the most luxurious of shrines dedicated to them.
Yung is known for having a sense of fashion often on the cutting edge of trends, if not setting them themself. They often wear long robes with open backs, showing off their vitiligo, heels, short and skin tight dresses, and vast amounts of jewelry. Yung is also known for carrying a smoking pipe given to them by Olrath, the God of Blue Whales. Most often, Yung is seen wearing bright, flashy colors typical of anyone associated with peacocks. This is usually in the form of blues, greens, yellow, and purple, with their own added flair of white and cream. However at times, most often when the god has noted themselves they feel more feminine, they will wear much more subdued items, typically in a monochrome of browns and tans, nowhere near as extravagant.
Olrath's Pipe- A small, unassuming item having once belonged to the God of Blue Whales, given to Yung when he was young. It is carved from whale bone, in the shape of a blue whale. The mouth opens to fit tobacco or other smoking produces, and is stained from use. Yung can use the smoke from the pipe to give himself Olrath's boons and call upon her power temporarily, although he rarely if ever has needed to do so.
The Peacock God's Fan- A massive fan shaped like a peacock's tail. It is believed to have been the favorite weapon of Yung's mother, Pagoni. Although not needed, Yung can use it to more directly show his attacks and methods of harnessing wind mana, or even use it as a shield despite its delicate appearance. Historically, the item has been used in conflicts with the dragons by previous peacock gods.
Mental characteristics
Yung is the son of
Pagoni, God of Peacocks , who had died early on in his life after a long rule as the peacock god. Still but a child at the time, Yung was placed under the care of
Olrath, the god of blue whales and considered to be the mother of gods. Having raised many, she did the same with him, bringing him from his home in Greece to Shanai, as she would not have been able to protect him so easily on land, but the islands surrounded by ocean were easily defensible, and also in the territory of
Fire God Vega. He grew up on the islands and quickly become fast friends with a mortal named
Soliairs Taeyang, who had also moved there when they were young.
As they grew up, Yung and Soliairs became more than friends, their teenage years dominated by a strong relationship that many remarked could last their entire lives. Unfortunately, this was not the case, as they grew up into young adults, Yung's duties as a god grew and his time for Soliairs, a mortal, was becoming thinner and thinner. Other gods remarked that he had begun neglecting some of his duties in favor of spending time with the mortal, and Yung was forced to make a choice- Either he could break off the relationship and focus on his duties, or be summoned by Shia and Mora along with other failing gods, potentially being marked to be replaced for a better. Instead, Yung took a third option- in secret, making Soliairs immortal in a bid to salvage their relationship, altering the flow of life and death without the permission of the other gods, and most importantly, without Soliairs' own opinion considered.
Yung did not tell Soliairs of this, instead continuing their relationship as if all was normal. Unbeknownst to both Yung and Soliairs at the time, Sol was pregnant with Yung's children,
Gulana Taeyang and
Heritai Pagoni. Soliairs only became aware of their own immortality after the death of the crane god, and in desperation, Shia and Mora picked them as their successor due to a lack of an heir and their immortality was revealed. Deeply angered by Yung taking control over their life in such a matter, Soliairs immediately broke up with him and fled, in an attempt to avoid fate, leaving him deeply heartbroken.
Later on, Yung managed to smooth things over with Soliairs and remains good friends with them to this day, along with their two children, Heritai even being named as his own heir. Yung also forged a powerful relationship with
Ryou, the God of Wind, becoming her heir temporarily, at least until they have children of their own. So far, they have not been successful.
Genderfluid, they/them he/him
Personality Characteristics
Yung maintains a strong love of fashion and is not known to dismiss anyone's work in creating their own styles, no matter how amateur. They value hard work and the pursuit of one's own goals. Those who love deeply and strongly are often favored by the god to a high degree, especially those that despite hard circumstances show incredible dedication to their partners.
Putting others down, especially for their sex lives, is a quick way to earn their ire, not often shown publically.
Yung must be pressed hard to take any sort of acknowledgement for their own work, to the point of fault. Most often, they will attribute any success as being that of their mate,
Ryou, the God of Wind or to
Olrath.
They are also incredibly soft spoken, often having to be reminded to speak up as to be heard clearly, due to their low voice.
Yung can often be seen twirling their hair between their fingers, or absentmindedly spinning their jewelry such as rings or bracelets.
Yung is extraordinarily clean, and rarely seen without heavy perfumes and makeup. Their clothing is often so high end it is out of the reach of mortals obtaining, and at the cutting edge of trends if not the god setting those trends themself.
Social
Yung keeps very close ties with
Heritai Pagoni, their son with
Soliairs Taeyang. As Yung's heir, Heritai is being trained to one day take over his father's position and be just as good a god as Yung has been. They have a good, steady relationship. It is well understood by the two that Heritai will never become Ryou's heir, for Yung and Ryou seek to have children together and name one of them as their heir. Heritai most often seems excited by the prospect of having younger half siblings.
Gulana Taeyang, Yung's daughter, has a much more distant relationship with him. Due to their very different lifestyles and duties, Yung was not able to spend as much time with her and was not around for much of her childhood. Regardless, they do think of each other fondly, and their meetings although rare, are often marked with the two exchanging welcoming gifts in their own styles and long tales of what they have been up to since last seeing one another.
Pagoni, God of Peacocks , Yung's late mother, died when he was very young and already named her heir. As such, he was placed in the care of
Olrath, the God of Blue Whales and often called the Mother of Gods. Olrath maintains a very good relationship with Yung and raised him on the Shanin Islands. Yung in turn funnels much of his power and worshipers to show her the same kindness she showed him. Yung considers Olrath as much his mother as Pagoni was, and loves her deeply. She too in turn, has a deep love for him as well.
In all forms of social event, Yung is polite and reserved, although dressed fully to the nines and presenting himself fully as his own idea of perfection. He addresses all guests and company with their highest honors, and is known to be kind to everyone unless deeply insulted personally.
He always maintains a degree of formality not often seen from the gods, treating all others with respect and proper greetings with bows, and will often move out of the way for mortals unprompted.
Yung is quite formal and known to often cross their hands behind their back when speaking, or keep them folded within his robes, not gesturing with them as much as possible. Usually, Yung tries to be mindful of other's personal space, keeping touching to a minimum aside from greetings, where they will shake the hands of any introduced to them, or gently hug even minor acquaintances.
Yung has a deep, but gentle voice full of warmth and kindness, not known to ever shout or yell at anyone, even enemies.
Adoptive Mother (Important)
Towards Yung Pagoni, God of Peacocks
History
Olrath was given custody of the young peacock god when they were a young child, after the death of Pagoni, God of Peacocks , the previous god. Olrath raised them into a proper god, training them in all their duties and a love of mortals, with a drive to protect them.
Relationship Reasoning
As the Mother of Gods, Olrath often raises the heirs of gods and goddesses who died before their young proteges are able to fully take on the position. Any young god without a parent and still in need of protection is placed in her care.

History
Yung and Soliairs were once lovers, from the time of their early teens well into adulthood. Both shared many years together, however as Yungs duties as a god grew, they became much more distant, and thus the pair split apart. Not willing to let Soliairs go, Yung made them immortal as a last bid for them to stay together. Instead this angered Soliairs, forever cementing that they would never have another romantic relationship. In the nearly two decades that have past since the end of their relationship, Soliairs and Yung have reconciled and remain friends, though with firm boundaries.
Soliairs later went on to become the Crane God, and give birth to two children by Yung. Their son serves as Yung's heir, while their daughter is in a relationship with Soliairs' heir, Namen Lugal.

Yung and Benjamen do not get along, have never gotten along, and most likely, never will. As Soliairs' new partner, Ben is viewed by Yung as a waste and a rebound, while Benjamen views the god as jealous and spiteful. Nevertheless, Benjamen is kind to Yung's children with Soliairs, helping to raise them as if they were his own.

History
Yung was not around often during Gulana's childhood, but the occasions where they were Gulana remembers fondly. Always on visiting, Yung had given his daughter many gifts and kind words, making his love of her known, despite not being an active part of her life growing up.
This remains much the same today, now with Gulana as a young adult, they often do not see one another and it is often only at holidays or major events outside of divine matters, but they still think of one another fondly.

Towards John de Luminarie, Goddess of Fireflies
History
JL’s adoration of creativity and innovation makes them a massive fan of Yung’s fashion and the ways Yung also encourages one to create their own styles, which is reflected in their respective cults. JL understands that really changing things will sometimes require risk and failure so they see uplifting amateurs or newbies, even when they fail, as vitally important for fostering a healthy mindset. Similarly, JL’s emphasis on recognition and change also gives him and his cult an idealization of hard work and pursuing one’s own goals. However, the fact that Yung seems to be avoidant about taking any acknowledgment for their own work is maddening for JL and they constantly try, and fail, to hype Yung up. Someone refusing to have the proper amount of pride in their accomplishments also drives JL up the wall. They are constantly asking Yung to speak up, especially since JL themselves speak very loud a majority of the time.
They are known to have gotten into conflicts before due to stepping in to stop or contain conflicts John is involved in. Also, John is much more proactive and known to get involved in the lives of mortals much more often.

Towards Chevalier, God of Crickets
Relationship Reasoning
Chevalier is a member of Yung’s cult due to both gods often being associated with romance and love as well as the fact that Chevalier is a romantic at heart. They both have a love of mortals and Chevalier rarely starts fights for Yung to have to intervene in. He also enjoys talking with Yung and consults them for fashion advice when they need to make a good first impression at extremely important events.

Towards Robeulalie, Goddess of Cicadas
Relationship Reasoning
She is a big fan of their fashion and clothing. Similar to John, Robeulalie doesn’t typically start fights but often doesn’t go out of her way to avoid them either. However, the cicada god ends up not causing a lot of trouble due to spending most of her time secluded underground anyway. But in the past Yung has intervened in fights Robeulalie was involved in. They seem to be on at least decent terms even though they have not interacted much.
Annoyance (Important)
Towards Yung Pagoni, God of Peacocks
Annoyance (Important)
Towards Nergalzeb, God of Flies
Relationship Reasoning
Yung and Nergalzeb are often seen as opposing forces for 2 main reasons. First Nergalzeb is often associated with things like filth and disease while Yung is extraordinarily clean. From the perspective of the fly god all things will one day decay and return to filth so her view of cleanliness and its value is much different than Yung’s. She sees cleaning most things as a pointless endeavor as all things grow dirty with time. To fight off the filth is like trying to fight off aging or time in most cases. Yung sees Nergalzeb as simply disgusting. Secondly, Yung often interferes with Nergalzeb’s plots and schemes quite frequently and usually forces her to keep their conflicts contained. Which can prove difficult for the fly god as sometimes she has a hard time reigning in her diseases once they have started spreading and mutating. It doesn’t help that sometimes Nergalzeb will sometimes attempt to slight mortals and minor gods alike if she feels they have disrespected Shia, Mora, or the natural order even if Shia or Mora have not said anything or done anything to show they even care about the matter.
