The Charred Wastes

Introduction

As history recalls, the people of Mortvech were the ones who first angered the Cursed Sun. They had built great temples to draw power from the sun itself to grow their crops and beat back the Muddle. It worked for a time, until the people grew greedy and began to draw more from the sun than it could replenish each night.

In anger, the Cursed Sun declared all mortal life was too beneath him to benefit from his blessed light and began burning away the many cities that scattered the Mortvech continent.

There has been little exploration into the wastes of Mortvech so what has become of the continent is yet to be fully understood, even after several generations.
