Jebedaiah Bateman
Jebedaiah Bateman, age 13, is the sole child of Horace Bateman, a higher-up in the Olkedo Binders Guild. Horace was asked to Olkedo for his extraordinary binding skills, called across a vast desert 8 years ago to assist Olkedo in a time of great need. Horace took his son with him, saying that if Jebedaiah was left with the mother, he would become soft and unfit for the world.
Jebedaiah was shown everything by his father - to endure barren places with no supplies, to shrug off blistering sun or freezing river, and above all, how to watch for danger and use Majimonsters to survive.
Jebedaiah has finally passed the latest test: binding his very own Majimonster! Horace locked him in a small room with a wild Majimonster, armed with a single drajule of Horace's creation and his own wits, Jebedaiah emerged victorious, his bound Fungplosion his first companion.
