Lady Tarannum (a.k.a. Tari)
Lady Tarannum or Tari is the righthand woman to Queen Fulmati. If you want to get in good with the queen, Tari is the one to talk to. She is the queen's translator in more ways than one.

Tarannum is not traditionally pretty. She is squat and her features are too homey. However, she’s so charming and witty. People usually at least call her handsome.

Lady Tarannum is actually a bastard child her father and a Davi woman. This is not an scandal in The Queendom of Shehrabad where traditional marriage is rare. However, Tari's legal mother is not a native Shebali woman and took offense. Until her dying day, Tari's legal mother treated Tari poorly and complained about Tari's lack of beauty. Tari's mother was eager to send Tari off to be a handmaiden to Fulmati. Tari's mother was disappointed that Tari was not selected for Princess Sharma or Queen Kesari . This was one the many times, Tari's mother was disappointed by her. Fulmati was the first person to believe in Tari and treat her well.
Tari values Fulmati's opinion above all things which is why Tari was secretly annoyed by Queen Fulmati complimenting Dalia. Tari already disliked Dalia for being one of the only other Davi woman at court and being more beautiful than her. Tari had been bullying Dalia subtly before but when QueenFulmati suggested hiring Dalia if Queen Kesari died, it was too much for Tari to take. She confronted Dalia and threaten her in Bahavi. However, she was interrupted by Sharma.
Later Sharma reported Tari’s behavior to Queen Fulmati in an attempt to get her fired. Tari has hated Princess Sharma and Dalia.
