Talaq ([talax])

The Talaq tribe are a nomadic people who roam the Dunes of Oblivion. They are a group of Sedjai and speak the language, but differ in vocabulary at times - the Talaqid dialect.   Around 15 years ago, they have taken over the settlement known as the Cavity. They have declared themselves the defacto leaders of the town, but their role as leaders isn’t as prominent as protectors. The town has become more and more difficult to get into, but it is not impossible.

Culture

Talaqki place a great importance on cooperation and personal accountability. Due to the Dunes being a harsh and deadly environment, going off on your own at the expense of the rest of the group is seen as the worst kind of betrayal and could lead to the rest of the group marking you as a Deathwalker (Karadon) - a person to be killed on sight.   Talaqki also have a long tradition of storytelling. Storytelling at a camp before the group goes to rest should bring good fortune for the journey ahead and appease the local spirits.

Talaqki and Raqanokki trade with one another on occasion. One group doesn’t go out of their way to help the other given the difference in the spirits they align themselves to, but the Talaqki still let Raqanokki into their city for trade and shelter.

Talaqki and Dalikorrki are and have been aggressive and hostile towards one another for ages. They do not trade. They do not speak. Over the years, they have even settled on opposite sides of the dunes.
Meetings between the two are often bloody, leaving one entire party to the dunes.
