Todikiqar
Todikiqar is the name used for one of two main deities of the Dunes of Oblivion, the spirit of the hot desert day. They do not have a physical form, instead being characterised as the heat of the sand in the height of the day.
The spirit is meant to provide a safe passage under their watch and ward off monsters of the sands.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
People who want to ask for Todikiqar’s blessing paint an empty circle on the back of their neck. A more devout, long-term dedication to the spirit (most common in Druidic practices) is symbolised by the individual painting a black line under their eyes and over their nose.
Besides these signifiers, Todikiqar (much like its southern counterpart) doesn’t have any symbols or sigils associated with it.
Tenets of Faith
Those who wish to maintain a connection with Todikiqar often follow two practices:
- An offering of a drop of water should be given to the sands at the height of the day. Some groups only do one drop per the whole group, some have one drop for each member travelling with them.
- As the sun is setting, it is customary to meditate, reflect on the day that has passed, and pray for (not to) Todikiqar. This is to ensure that no harm will come to them during the night.
