Cascade Trading Post

The Cascade Trading Post is the Southern most establishment of The Empire. By boat, it is eight day journey upriver from Fallmouth to the base of the Cascade Falls. Supplies and work orders arrive to the post, and raw materials leave to head back down river.

Demographics

Only those who are willing to tough out the wilderness can be found here. Unlike Fallmouth , there is no clear majority of heritages. There is a much greater representation of Lizardfolk  and Tabaxi as their territories boarder this settlement. These species are integral to the success of the post as Tabaxi are skilled trackers and consuls while Lizardfolk are expert foragers and craftsmen.
In addition, there are heritages that make their way to the trading post that otherwise would not interact with The Empire. The most notable of these are the Gif, who's territory the trading post is built on. However, they are only there for short periods of time during their collection of tribute.

Infrastructure

The primary purpose of the trading post is a lay station for trappers, hunters, and miners. This point of civilization allows them to sell or barter their raw goods and restock on supplies before returning to the wilds of Quai Thu. There are three main structures that are at the core: The Trade Hall, The Chandler's Office, and The Mess Hall. The trade hall is where raw goods are packaged to be shipped and refined goods return from the city to be used by the post. All of this information is recorded and sent to the Chandler's Office. In addition of to record keeping, the Chandler is responsible for the payment of services, filing restock for the post, and keeping a manifest of individuals coming in or out of the trading post. Lastly the Mess Hall serves a resting place for temporary residence both in the way of food as well as lodging.
In addition to the core buildings, there are other structures that service the needs of the primary occupants. This includes field suppliers such as a tanner, fletcher and even a forge operated by the Miner's Guild. There are also businesses that can provide small comforts for those far from civilization such as an herbalist and even a barber.

Geography

The trading post is built along the Cascade Falls which separates the Upper and Lower Cascade River.
