Longwy Foret
Overview
Longwy Foret is the dense forest that sits on the borders of Cote D'Prue and Les Marais Duluk. It is home to several dangerous creatures and factions, most notably the Werewolf and Vampire factions.Geography
Longwy Foret is a dense forest region that hosts multiple great sources of evil within its thick trees. Being difficult to patrol, the Nation of Androtia has mostly left Longwy Foret unchecked. The trees grow so thick at points that they form impassible walls, and deep within the forest all light is lost as the treetops cover the sky, branches intertwining to form a ceiling.
Ecosystem
Within the forest live a myriad of traditional forest creatures along with many demonic entities such as goblins, ogres, and giant spiders. The deeper into the forest, the more deadly the creatures. Towards the heart of the forest lies the The Court of the Vampire Lords. Here, the Vampires work under The Vampire Lords to raise new vampires and dominate the forest.
Localized Phenomena
Shard of the Continuance Pendulum
The Court of the Vampire Lords is located at the center of the forest in a large open clearing. Currently, the Vampires are holding a shard of The Continuance Pendulum and manipulating it's magical power to infinitely harvest mortal blood from the same mortal.The vampires begin to float away from the party towards the glowing light behind the base of the tower towards the back end of the clearing expecting you to follow. They lead you towards the energy source. You see it now, you see a glowing white shard of energy suspended about 6 feet off the ground, creating a domelike aura of energy around it. The light is white and ethereal as it forms the translucent dome. You see several of the vampires surrounding the dome and with them are a few of the mortal prisoners. You watch as the vampires drain them of their blood, sucking every drop until they appear to be nothing but empty husks. The vampires toss the bodies into the aura surrounding the shard of the pendulum and you watch as time slowly reverses on the body, much like it did when Gamal perished, much like it must have done when Ophelia was resurrected. The bodies slowly reverse, filling with blood before springing back to life. The vampires wait a moment for them to be full again before pulling them out of the the aura and starting the draining process again.
The Shrine of Amoux
Deeper in the forest is The Shrine of Amoux which hosts the Talisman of Amoux, an item that can turn a mortal into a werewolf and turn a werewolf to their wolf form outside of a full moon.Orfeo's Tree
Gevaudan is an Werewolf keeping a group of werewolves from doing harm at Gevaudan's Camp. Near the camp is Orfeo's remains in the form of a tree that blossoms with red rubies, glowing with Orfeo's latent energy.You enter into a small clearing within the thick of the forest and to see a shimmer of red light, as your eyes adjust you see a beautiful, ancient tree. It's dark ashen wood trunk leads up to long flowing arms and branches that spread out over the clearing. Budding from the ends of the branches are what appear to be small red gemstones glowing with energy. As you walk under the tree it is a magic experience as the branches spanning out above you sparkle a glowing red illuminating the forest floor beneath you. Gevaudan reaches out to the trunk of the tree and places a hand on it. "This is Orfeo. Or at least, what is left of Orfeo. Orfeo left his mortal form many years ago. Perhaps a bit too ambitious in trying to create the equivalent of four lesser gods, his power waned and he manifested the last of his being in this tree. The vampires need the energy of Orfeo to create new vampires and hope to wake Orfeo from his slumber in order to create more vampire lords. Gods can take a dormant state when they expend too much divine energy. I know who you are. I know you have seen several gods in their dormant state, so this should not come as a surprise to you. Most of the chaos gods have been in their dormant state for hundreds of years but recently, they are returning from the Calamitous lands. I worry that with the shift that has happened, Orfeo will rise to his original form as well. I have been watching this tree for a thousand years. Every year, more crystals bloom. I sense that Orfeo is regaining his strength. The vampire attacks have only increased as of late as well."
