The Star of Kirithan

While most would think the object lost to time, all look at the legends of the lost crown jewel of The Kirithan Empire with utter wonder. Ancient tomes read of an arcane device, that looked like a jewel of opal or labradorite, that acted without limits. Its wielder, whether man or magi, was said to have the power equal to a god, to shape the world with little more than a mere thought. Such could very likely be the exaggerated tales of old wives and the lusts of men, but from all the records of the now dead empire tell of it as a source of great power.   Mages were said to be able to use magic that they could not have dreamed of controlling. Whether it was a pyromancer controlling all of the elements, to an illusionist weaving his works and stepping across the world as they become gateways. Mortal men were said to be able to match even the strongest of the magi Archon Lords with it in their hands.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

In truth it is unknown. While the object was used throughout the history of the Kirithian empire and even after the empire's fall references of it being uncovered, used, and then disappearing once again liter history. The only man who knew the truth of its creation and the deepest of its functions would have been Azariah Kirith, its creator, and master of The Kirithan Empire.   There are a number of theories as to how the lost relic worked. The ideas range from the relic being a gate between The Void and Prospero, from which impossible energies could pour forth the into the world. Others speculate that a god of the Void was trapped in the mortal world and forced into the jewel. It might simply be just a repository for the energies of the Archstone and mages that fuelled its creation, as others argue.
