The Void

The Void is the realm of magic and home of spirits. It is a land of endless energies that are in near constant turmoil as they fight one another and break apart in an endless storm of raw elemental power. It is a formless realm that knows no physicality. It is a source of all magic that magi draw from. Some religions believe that it is from this realm that the gods descended into our realm, while other faiths view the realm and its energies as those rejected by the gods and thus pushed from the world.
The Void and its inhabitants' hunger for life for reasons that are not truly known although many faiths have their speculation on the idea. It is though known that life is an energy which does not exist in the void, it is entirely alien the realm. Magi are able to act as conduits between the life granting energies of the earth and shaping the unnatural void energies. The power is gifted to mages by channeling the life essence of the world through their bodies which draws the beings of the void who greedily feed upon it, leaving their arcane powers into the magi. Many Archon scholars believe when anything is born, The Void exists within them for a moment drawing in the essence life and then closing off, creating the soul. With magi, it is theorized that this connection never closes within their soul. The void is the beginning and the end for the magi. It is the reason they are born, so they believe, and from it where they draw their powers, and one of the places where they believe the spirit within flees from the body in both dream and their final sleep.
From this land though if the spirits find their way into the material plane they are said to birth the beings known as Void Beasts.
Some also claim that it also the realm of dreams and all that one sees in there resting hours come from the void. It is how many magi, philosophers, and scholars explain visions that mortals and mages have as they sleep.

Manifestation

It is often seen as an oily black abyss, though this is not true. Not entirely. It is a realm of an endless rainbow of colors spinning endlessly together in a great dance and combat. Some claim that it also the realm of dreams and all that one sees in there resting hours come from the void.
