-Elder Motto of the Zan'val kii Zul'pashnaniir

Through this land flows time long past; the unending flow of the River of Souls cleansing our blood and soul; and to everlasting prosperity it shall guide us towards.
- Closest possible translation to English of the Motto by Devil Javriik Den'am

Shortly after the Battle of Far'shal'anul in the Ancient Solar Year 42.90, when The Kur'ru'skunal defeated Zan'nal'takriin, the Great Devil was forced to activate his reality rift which killed 6 of the 7 Primordial Ancients. Zatan'na, the only survivor of the 7, in a great rage, activated a reality rift that nearly tore apart Infernus and separated the Realm's land into 7.   The city of Far'shal'anul, the site in which Zatan'na unleashed a power that only gods could wield, is where the initial sundering began; when the splitting of the world began, all those unfortunate in its path were all swallowed into the abysmal waters, perishing in masses that brought horror to Zan'nal'takriin. Indeed, many were killed in this sundering, but all those before their deaths had one thing in mind: to keep their realm from the evils of those opposing their Great Devil.   Legends from the Elders tell that these same demons that perished, that even though their corporeal beings are long since, that their souls remain in the river. And it is the souls of the demons of the time that keeps watching eye and continue to guide the demons and devils of present times to everlasting prosperity.

The Region of the Memorial River of Prosperity

The neighboring and sister region to Zan'val kii Kulvii'iir, Zan'val kii Zul'pashnaniir is the second oldest Zan'val in Infernus. A land, founded during the Elder rule, of an unfortunate history of war, bloodshed, and struggles during the Ancient Rule, this region is most famous for the River of Souls and its legend.

Biomes

Located in the center of the temperate zone of the Realm, the region experiences all four seasons.   The dominant biome found in the region is the temperate rainforest, covering 34% of the region. Most of these temperate rainforests are found on the easter half of the region. Following temperate rainforest is the second dominant biome: temperate wetlands, which cover another 26% of the region. Most of these wetlands are found near the River of Souls and the many rivers that feed into it.   Covering about 18% of the region are temperate grasslands. Most of these grasslands are located on the western half of the region. Often found near temperate grasslands are temperate deciduous forests. They account for covering another 17% of the region.   The final and smallest biome found in the region is the alpine biome. The biome is found in the northwestern-most areas of the region, above Dantal'ion Domain. This biome accounts for the remaining 5% of the region's biomes.

Sal'vanor Yuniir

Sal'vanor kov Yuniir, also known as the Monsoon of Tears, is a monsoon season (or the long rainy season) of the eastern half of the Zan'val. The monsoon comes in from the Vol'malniir Ocean and typically begins in both Zan'nil kii Un'umunum and Purshov simultaneously. The heavy rains brought on by Sal'vanor kov Yuniir run down the entirety of Fiil'majur kov Kona'rakvol (the River of Souls) and dissipate once they reach the Evnuv'kol Gulf. The entire season generally lasts from mid-Enkaz'renzaal to late-Yuv'renzaal.   During Sal'vanor Yuniir, Iinoluv kov Yuniir, or the Festival of Tears, is also held. Although a myth, many in the realm believe that the demons that died due to Zatan'na's reality rift still weep both in past and present times. That their souls still have remaining energy in Infernus; that it's this energy that manifests into an entire season of rain. Although the festival can be celebrated anywhere in the Zan'val, it is primarily held in locations near Fiil'majur kov Kona'rakvol. The River and the Rain legend states that those in the rain are filled only with sorrow, yearning for peace long overdue.   The River and the Rain legend states that those in the rain are filled only with sorrow, yearning for peace long overdue. It's also said that the remains of the souls in the River not only watch and guide the living, but also yearn to be reunited with the other demons of long ago; demons that were kin, but divided, and now in ages long past, wish no more than to be kin once more.   In modern days, devils create elaborate and artistic vessels to catch the rain that falls. Each vessel is then decorated with Elder poetry or art inside of a temple to Zan'nal'takriin, a way to allow the demons of old to experience the future they never had the chance of seeing. All the while, inside these temples, Elder songs are sung by the Eriis'iivus, who are believed to be able to ease the old burdens of the demons of old.   The vessels at the end of the festival are then all gathered at one location (not en masse in the Realm, but where each individual festival occurred), and then released of their tears back into the River. It's believed once the demons of old have experienced the present as well as the soothing music of the Eriis'iivus, they are then ready to be reunited with their kin in the River that they'd so long missed for so many ages.
Those souls in the River watch over us and guide us. However, the ones that weep, their souls cannot be guided by the River. For it isn't because the River chooses so, but the ones who weep. Their sorrows and misdeeds to be cleansed not by the River, but to receive guidance and forgiveness from those living in the present.
Although many are believed to be reunited with their kin, it's also believed that the atrocities from the Infernus Civil were so great that many also are still unable to be reunited due to such great sorrows. So, the Festival occurs again the next year, the devils of the present hoping to guide as many of the demons of old to peace.

Zan'nil

Zan'val kii Zul'pashnaniiir has the most Zan'nil of all Zan'val in the Realm. Totaling at 8 Zan'nil in total, the region is home to the Zan'nil kii Pur'shov, Juniil'ka, Rekniiv, Belvolniir, Osh'nunkun, Iinko'olv, Sa'vash, and Un'umunum.

Zan'nil kii Pur'shov

The distinct zan'nil in the region, Zan'nil kii Pur'shov, roughly translated to "the Prosperity of Pur'shov", was founded in Elder 1st Line, Generation Overrule. It was founded by Elder Demon Senvul'kal'vakiin Pur'shov (Elder Pur'shov I) following the end of the Infernus Civil War. Although the full origins of the founding have been lost, it's widely believed the Zan'nil was founded when Elder Pur'shov I experienced rain for the first time; the Elder believing the rain to be the tears of the deceased from the war. When he founded the Zan'nil, its borders were drawn to hold the majority of Fiil'majur kov Kona'rakvol and the Dar'siim Mountains.   T
Wetlands by chromaTinker
he zan'nil is very wet and receives tons of rain, not only during Sal'vanor Yuniir but also during the rest of the year. A good chunk of the Zan'nil is either wetlands or lowland plains. The Dar'siim Mountain Range separates East and West Pur'shov, the range being colder and a bit drier than the lowlands of the rest of the Zan'nil. Directly east of the mountains is the only major forest of the Zan'nil, the Ko'virin Forest.   In addition to being the most populous Zan'nil, it's also home to the Royal Family of Pur'shov, where the family makes their domain directly on Fiil'majur kov Kona'rakvol. Within the Pur'shov domain is the capital city Pa'sanakol, located directly on Fiil'majur kov Kona'rakvol. This is also where the largest Iinoluv kov Yuniir is held, which is estimated to attract over 5 million people a year.   The historic city of Janiil is also located within the domain, where the infamous Explosion of Janiil University occurred in Mortal Year 1894, caused by an unknown person within the The Order of Reasonable Teachings. The explosion not only took the University with it but also half the city and a great many of those living in it. The city in present times has become a memorial site that attracts many visitors a year, many receiving the historical details about the Order, the city, and the dangerous ideology that was present during the time.

Zan'niil kii Juunil'kal

An anomaly of a zan'nil, Zan'niil kii Juunil'kal, roughly translated to "the Prospering of the Lone Islands," is an archipelago zan'nil that was detached from the mainland after Zatan'na's reality rift. No one knows who founded the zan'nil exactly, but what is known is that in Elder 6th Line, Generation Awakening, a group of demons that explored to the east came across the land and many years later returned to the mainland with news of their discovery.   Since the zan'nil is many miles from the mainland, many of its customs and cultures are foreign to the rest of the Zan'val. The only similar custom is Iinoluv kov Yuniir, and even then, the turnout for those in the zan'nil is lowest among the others in the region. Another factor is that the islands receive no rain from Sal'vanor Yuniir, which has shifted the beliefs of many living on the island of the myth.   Instead of Sal'vanor Yuniir, the islands are struck by devasting hurricanes during its summer season. This has led to another myth on the demons of old: instead of sorrow and grief, the rains brought on are due to the wrath and jealousy of the demons of old.   Most of the islands are lowlands, with temperate rainforests scattered about. Although the capital city of Jarsh'huniil is located on the massive Lake Los'viik, many of the zan'nil's major cities are located on or near the coast. This is mainly due to the zan'nil being the leading exporter of Grii'ta in the Realm. Also, the coastal cities also make for major tourist destinations.

Zan'niil kii Rekniiv

T
he heavily forested zan'nil, Zan'nil kii Rekniiv, roughly translated to "the Prosperity of a Damp Forest," is a heavily forested land founded in Elder 1st Line, Generation Overrule by Elder Brothers Salov'viir and Salo'niir Kel'kalnuv.

Although it's home to the largest forest in the Zan'val, the Fajun'niil Forest, most of the population in the zan'nil live near Fiil'majur kov Kona'rakvol. The most recent census of the zan'nil showed that 68% of residents live in a city or town 20 miles (32.2km) from the river.

The zan'nil is most noted for the Fajun'niil Forest, which covers a majority of the land. The forest is said to be the oldest in the zan'val and is the source of many legends and tales dating back to the Elder Rule. At the heart of the forest is the city of Nazur'ishnal, where one of the worst atrocities in Infernus's history occurred: The Surrender & Massacre Of Nazur'ishnal of Solar Year 42.83 during the Ancient Rule. The city is widely believed to be haunted by the souls of those that died during the massacre; many tales of the Fajun'niil Forest are also believed to stem from the massacre. Whether the tales are true or not, one thing is for certain; the city is notorious for odd and unexplained happenings, leading the city to become a destination for those looking for paranormal activity.

Zan'nil kii Belvolniir

The peninsular and youngest of the zan'nil, the Zan'nil kii Belvolniir, roughly translated to "the Prosperity of The Forecast," is small but important land that was founded Contemporary 7th Line, Generation Enlightened by the weather conglomerate Belvolniir Weather & Aviation Trends.   Once a part of Zan'nil kii Rekniiv, the zan'nil is independent and is the Realm's leading investor in the research and development of aviation science and technologies. In addition, the zan'nil is also a scientific powerhouse, landing in the top 10 of every scientific research available in the Realm. Since the primary focus of the zan'nil is on research and development, many elite and prestigious schools can be found, most notably the Belvolniir Institute of Technology.

Living in the zan'nil is expensive, the average means of livings rivaling the single capital city of U'liis, the Capital City of Zatan'niir kii Zul'nan (Realm of Wrath). Although the weather throughout the zan'nil is nice, there are very few tourist destinations, and the cost of living anywhere is far too high for the average devil. Although the scientific powerhouse of Zatan'niir kii Zul'nan, the zan'nil also has the lowest population of all within the Realm of Wrath. Most would prefer to live in the neighboring zan'nil, as the cost of living is far lower.

Zan'nil kii Osh'nunkun

K
nown for its lakes, the Zan'nil kii Osh'nunkun, roughly translated to "the Prospering of the Triple Lakes, " is a land that is renowned for its diverse wildlife. Founded by Elder Demon Zul'kajul Yon'vrii in Elder 1st Line, Generation Overrule, the zan'nil is the most diverse in terms of wildlife and biomes.

Ecologists have studied the zan'nil thoroughly and found that it contains every biome found in the zan'nil. This has also led to it being recognized as the most diverse zan'nil, with every species of fiend and wildlife found within the zan'val making their home here.

Located at the heart of the zan'nil is the Greater Noble House of Bi'vron, their domain taking up two of the three great lakes of the land. The House makes their grounds directly on Lake Bi'vroniil, where they practice the taming of and breeding of the almost extinct Drulniil, a magnificent yet dangerous amphibious fiend. The House is also surrounded by swamps and marshes to the east and west, with Lake Riinol acting as a natural defense to the south. It's often said that House Bi'vron is one of the hardest houses to launch an assault on; since the founding of the House, only once has any outside force been able to make their way to the House grounds.
Most devils living in the zan'nil prefer to live near the three great lakes. Even though the lakes are surrounded by marsh and swamp, the weather there is fair. The southernmost parts of the zan'nil, especially closer to Fiil'majur kov Kona'rakvol, are another popular spot. Aside from these two areas, most of the zan'nil is rural countryside, save for the Analiiz Mountains to the northwest.

Zan'nil kii Iinko'olv

The largest of the zan'nil in the region, Zan'nil kii Iinko'olv, roughly translated to "the Prosperity of Excavation," is a land rich in many valuable metals that was founded during Elder 1st Line, General Overrule by Elder Kiin'suniire Dun'batur.

It's
often told in tales that the Realm of Infernus is made of material nigh-indestructible except for the powers of the Gods. However, some tales also tell that when Zatan'na reality rifted, he managed to fragment these so-called nigh-indestructible materials and caused them to erupt and tower into the sky. These legends, originating from those who witnessed Zatan'na's power firsthand, tell that that was when the first of the Great Ranges of Infernus was created. And that within the first of these Great Ranges came one of the greatest prosperities in the Realm: excavation.

The zan'nil is best known for the Analiiz and Zelfriin Mountain Ranges, both ranges containing the largest deposits of kolm'zuul in Zatan'niir kii Zul'nan. It's estimated the ranges alone contain nearly a quarter of Infernus's kolm'zuul deposits. Although its best known for its mountain ranges and rich deposits of the Realm's most valuable metal, the zan'nil is rich in many other metals, namely Fii'kriskal and Grii'ta.

The Greater Noble House of Dantal'ion, making their domain directly south of the Zelfriin Range, boasts the largest mine in Zatan'niir kii Zul'nan. Named after its founder, the Iishnun'kiin Dantal'ion Mine is rich in fii'kriskal, gold, and many other precious metals and gems. Because they own the mine, House Dantal'ion is one of the major exporters of various precious metals and gems.

In addition, since the House also keeps its share of metals and gems, most of their weaponry and jewelry are made in-house. It's also a tradition that each family member becomes a craftsman or blacksmith. It's often frowned upon by members of the family to purchase weaponry or jewelry not made by members of the House.

Zan'nil kii Sa'vash

A divided zan'nil, Zan'nil kii Sa'vash, roughly translated to "the Divided Prospering Between Siblings," is a land divided into two by natural barriers that was founded during Elder 5th Line, Generation Turmoil by the Elder Group Bol'volaankun.

Originally the zan'nil was part of Zan'nil kii Pur'shov. However, in Elder 5th Line, the famous group Bol'volaankun. Among many who fought during the 3rd Great Holy War, this group performed the greatest of feats. Once the war was over, King Venii'iinun Pur'shov convened with High King Ab'kanuniil Satan'na and the other kings of Zatan'niir kii Zul'nan. Bol'volaankun was recognized as the most performative of demons in the Realm of Wrath. It was agreed upon unanimously that the group should be rewarded with the highest honors.

At the time, Zan'nal'takriin had stepped into The Crossroads, alongside every other Chief Deity. Unfortunately for Bol'volaankun, none of the honored names could be granted Greater Noble House status, and Lesser Nobles Houses had not yet come into formation yet. Instead, it was by King Venii'iinun Pur'shov that he would give Bol'volaankun a piece of his own lands, specifically his lands on the other side of Fiil'majur kov Kona'rakvol.

Since the zan'nil's founding, it's maintained a close relationship to its former zan'nil. Many of the traditions and customs from Zan'nil kii Pur'shov are still found in Zan'nil kii Sa'vash. In addition, the Lesser Houses found within are closely looked after by House Pur'shov. In fact, in Contemporary 2nd Line, Generation New Dawn, King Pur'shov II publicly stated that he and his house viewed Zan'nil kii Sa'vash as a sibling zan'nil. Due to this, the name of Zan'nil was slightly changed; the name remained the same in Elder, but the character used to write it changed to give it a new meaning.
