Genomancer

PEOPLE WHO INHERITED, ACQUIRED OR DEVELOPED THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND, CONTROL AND EXPAND THEIR GENOMES, THUS CONTROLLING MUTATIONS.

After The Fall, living beings started to develop mutations. These mutations are mechanisms that help creatures and humans to defend themselves and to better adapt to the harsh environment. Most of them are subtle, but others are grotesque. Many newborns of all species are born dead, due to mutations that are not compatible with life.

Genomancers have been feared, hated, and revered. They can command the foundations of life: genomes. To them, life is malleable, and species are mere abstractions. They can extract traits and mutations from different individuals and put them together in another, sometimes between different species. They can remove mutations from other people too. They can do this because all of them have a special mutation, a retractable Genomic Spur - 3 that allows them to extract and insert genetic material from other living beings, and interact with the genomes of other living beings.

Furthermore, they store the genetic samples they find useful within their own genomes, becoming mutation collectors. Most people are born with certain mutations, and that's what they have for life. Genomancers, on the contrary, can consciously choose which mutations to express, selecting from the ones they have collected. They do so entering into a trance-like state called Attunement. They are able to do so thanks to chemicals secreted by a gland related to the Genomic Spur - 3. Hence, the Genomancers gains a Skill called Attunement, reflecting thir capacity to enter a trance-like state that makes them capable of "reading", understanding, and creating a mental visualization of the genes he carries, as well as interacting with them, expressing , repressing or supressing genes at will.
By using their Genomic Spur - 3, they are able to interact with genomes of other beings.
They cannot create mutations out of nothing, though.

Genomancers must always follow the rules of the Mutation System.
Genomancers start with more Gene Points than characters from other archetypes.

Inheriting, developing or acquiring the Genomic Spur - 3 mutation, and training to develop their Attunement skill.

They are sought to remove aberrations, and to inject mutations into people, for a price.

Perception

Social Status

They are deeply feared because of their power, and the ruthless experimentation they need to perform in the path to @GenomicConsciousness and then to expand their genepools. Because of these reasons, they tend to be pariahs, nobody wants to live near them, even though they might be useful allies they are still deeply feared.

Demographics

The percentage of the population with the spur is very little, and even though accomplished Genomancers could propagate the spur throughout the population, they do not do it, to protect their position, and avoid a genomic collapse. Sometimes they take worthy apprentices, and transmit the spur to them.
