The Second Magic War of Abeon

 INTRODUCTION

In the final days of the third period of Abeon, aka The Age of Blood, the Archian Empire was expanding rapidly, filling the voids left by the fall of the Ithrium Empire and the dwarven kingdom of Meluhur. This expansion was led by Lord King Christophe II, the second king of the House of Eleymas, who was heavily influenced by the Merciful during his reign (3586-3799). This influence drove the final piece into place for the expedition to finally remove the evil art of decomancy out of Abeon once and for all.

 WAR BEGINS

The Second Magic War kicked off in 3727, just twenty years after the fall of the Ithrium Empire. Warlocks and Reapers roamed the Battlewrath Plains, with no enforcement to stop them, and no help from the The Tsondalian Free Empire or the Archian Empire. The Merciful Council, located near a hot spot of Dark Reapers, began enforcing their influence on the aging Christophe, knowing that his son Christophe III was a devout Middleton believer. With the window to create a coalition against decomancy was fading, Blackwulf the Flame Lord jumped into action, recruiting the current emperor of Tsonlar, Reangar the Great. Blackwulf and Reangar began fighting back the resurgence in Battlewrath, pushing the reapers and warlocks all the way back to The Cursed Vale, where they were exiled just over a millenium, prior to the events of The Third Magic War of Abeon. However, a far larger threat emerged in 3728 4p, when it was revealed the demigod Kor'non had placed his five greatest demons, The Keepers of Kor'non, in Abeon.

 CONQUEST OF BLOOM SPIRE

In the final days of 3728, Blackwulf and Van the Warden managed to convince King Christophe II to send an army to retake Bloom Spire from the Keepers. The two merciful set off with a force of four thousand, but on the way, Van fell brutally sick and was replaced by Jubiniah the Elder. On the first day of 3729, the Northern Allied Army surrounded Bloom Spire and began a long and bloody siege of the tower. The first three battles took place in rapid succession, followed by months of delay and strategy. In the fourth battle, a major victory occured when Blackwulf the Flamelord killed the Keeper of Souls and the Keeper of Death. The armies pressed in closer, but the hordes of undead continued to throw back the siege for another fourteen months.

 THE FINAL BATTLE

Finally, in Animatos of 3730 4p, the sixth and last battle of Bloom Spire took place. Jubiniah and Blackwulf infiltrated the courtyard, and managed to execute the three remaining reapers. However, the price was heavy, as Blackwulf died his first death at the hands of the Keeper of Hidden Words. The aftermath only proved to strengthen Archia further, opening all of Battlewrath for conquest and submission. The Northern Peninsula was left mostly undefended and unruled following the war, leading to tensions that would eventually snap in 4630 4p, leading to the Confederation of Fondalar.
