Session 21: Are You There, Ylmyo-Aldon? It's Me, Emelia

General Summary

The Coast Guard brought Khalog to Ta'lan Rah, and visited Dominhall. Calloway tried getting more info about where they were headed from Dom, who seemed slightly more responsive after a tenday of recuperation under Mili-bohn's care.
Dom showed Calloway (via the previously used Detect Thoughts/Message wombo combo):
  • His own hands and arms, grotesquely intertwined with a large, organic, tree-like entity
  • His perception moving inwards, into the "tree", and out to view various dangers they may face; notably, many-legged creatures with some measure of intelligence and some sort of giant worm
  • A simple red dew wood door

  •   The CG spent what could be their final night in Port Shimmerly carousing at The Lodge, entertained by The Ironfuries and drinking Ibsen-cha.
Finally the time had come. The group and Khalog met at Ta'lan Rah at the appointed time and felt themselves and the cave shift wildly into... somewhere.
Behind a door they found an altar of blood and soil with 27 burned out candles and bundles of various objects, including gemstones and platinum peices. Inside a large locked chest inscribed with "III" and a family crest of fish on a line, additional candles and a moldy (mouldering?) book and fancy pen. Emelia instantly took the opportunity to write "Emelia was here"... just in time for Leaf to use SNTR-1's Detect Magic wand to discover powerful conjuration magic on the book. SNTR-1 Identified it as a magic item that allowed communication between itself and two "sister" objects, one of which was connected to a massive source of power, the other of which felt more mundane. Without the ability to Unsend the text Emelia sent, the group took the book with them to at least see if anyone would answer.
Finding nothing else of value, the crew set off down the upsetting tunnel, eventually finding a butthole a "stoma" leading into a set of ... Rooms? Caverns? It's all unclear, but there's lights moving and slightly transparent surfaces, floating orbs that react to their prescence, floating ribbon-like worm-things that don't, and big blobs of liqiud inside the spaces the group is walking through. The stoma connect each room, and can be opened by introducing water. When the session ended, they had been walking through the series of rooms for about thirty minutes, and they could see movement in the room beyond.
