Session 20: That Time Spug Got Reincarnated As Dirt
General Summary
After a long hiatus, game is back on!!
After killing the Nightgaunt, the Coast Guard noticed activity at the Universalist Temple. Upon investigation, they found ~20 Gutters fervently but ineffectively digging a hole. Eunice Mince claimed they were building a cave in hopes of Spug returning with more Gutpunch. Without any real reason to arrest anyone, the CG worked on getting the Gutters out of Ting's feathers. A combination of skills in persuasion from Leaf, deception and performance from SNTR-1 and Emelia, and distraction from Calloway resulted in the Gutters leaving the temple en masse to camp out in the forest for the time being. After all, who wouldn't be persuaded by threats of litigation for tax evasion in combination with the face of your drug dealer appearing in the dirt and telling you to await his return in the woods "soon"?
After giving Captain Caydense the rundown of the night's activities, plans were made to make sure the Gutter would be safe in the forest for the time being. Emelia, SNTR-1, and Calloway retrieved the corpse of the Nightgaunt from the Tenement rooftop and brought it to Sid Vicious, who bought it for 6,000gp (paid in 3 installments -- 2,000gp this time!). The thrilling story of the Nightgaunt encounter was also conveyed to Fern, ensuring the soon-to-be-famous-and-also-taxidermied creature would likely be well sought-after.
The group spent time buying potions, magic items, and getting upgrades. SNTR-1 finished his homunculus project! Captain Sultana returned with Khalog, a Gith man with two big-ass greatswords. Khalog made his introduction and gave some insight about his particular skills in planar traveling. He promised to take a took at the cave before the Shift happens in about 36 hours.
