Ta'lan Rah

The secret cavern frequented by Klaus Iverfort and Fionne.
Klaus can explained that he spends a lot of time in the caves, and he found this room a few years ago and has been using it ever since. He found it already fully outfitted as you see, with the exception that there was only one chair originally. He always expected to find someone here the next time he showed up, because it didn’t appear abandoned, but he never saw anyone, and it has become the rendezvous point for his affair with Fionne. He only found the paintings after Fionne insisted he clean the area.

Description:

A carpet of pale green springy moss covers the floor. This room is about ten degrees warmer than most of the cave system. Small piter columns are placed in bowl-shaped sconces of mosaic colored glass on the walls. Two chairs made from bone-white driftwood and dark animal hide and furs sit by a hookah atop a table made from solid quartz. Behind, a natural alcove is stuffed full with what looks like frames or strips of wood.


A small slope leads to a loft-like raised area dominated by a low platform of wood covered in animal furs, pillows, and blankets. The ceiling is dotted with pinpricks of light, like constellations, or maybe a splattering of some kind of paint. The smoke from the incense and hookah are wicked upwards through these pinpricks as if by a fume hood. They offer little illumination but add to the dreamy, otherworldliness of this room.


A burbling spring of steaming water, so white that it almost seems to be glowing, spouts from one wall. It collects in a large, smooth stone basin which is hard to tell if it’s carved from the rock or a natural formation. The water gently laps over the edge of the basin into a small channel which carries it around the edges of the room, preventing any flooding.
