Session 15: You Got Miyazaki, We Got Myceliophytes
General Summary
The team took Dominhall Amanita's comatose body to the Temple of Kraa'thom, where they were met by an elderly elven woman who spoke cryptically about having expected them and that they should return later. Gern Tos introduces her as Mili-bohn, a respected elder of the faith who lives in a hut on temple grounds, and while he assured them that she was harmless and well-intentioned, he seemed to not take her very seriously.
When Leaf, Emelia, and SNTR-1 arrived at The Lodge to tell Jaysennia, they were suprised to find Calloway, looking dirty but unharmed, eating breakfast with Sulphier and Henrietta. Accidental, wild-magic induced teleportation had sat Calloway on charming Miyazaki-esque adventure through Lient'roc, where they befriended a pack of Awakened plants and Treants (Mos'ra'el "Moss" and Al'eth'kar "Al") who helped them survive in the wilderness. They eventually noticed a burst of wild magic that occurred weekly, and through the reckless use of magic, was able to reverse the teleportion to end up back at the very edges of the forest.
When Leaf failed to get a response from Jaysennia's door, the team discovered she was not in the room, even though Henrietta and Sulphier had seen her go inside. They found a secret tunnel that ultimately led to Ta'lan Rah, the very cave where they found Dominhall and the dead mushroom man. SNTR-1 used Detect Magic, once again seeing the faint remnants of conjuration magic on the room, but also on Calloway. Much speculation then occurred, the upshot of which was the theory that Calloway's teleportation situation was related in some way to the transposition of the two "states" of Ta'lan Rah (painted & unpainted).
Emelia was able to quickly interpret some of Jaysennia's shorthand notes, learning that she'd been investigating how the Baron got his wealth and power. SNTR-1 Identified Jaysennia's typing machine, learning that it used Divination magic to directly translate what a person was thinking into the output of the machine. He also saw that it was made using the glittery blue powder they had been before, and that it wasn't designed the way an engineer would design an invention, but more organically evolved.
The team now has several goals between now and the weekly burst of wild magic:Talk to Mili-bohn & determine if Dominhall can be revived
Interrogate Kyrion, who is still in jail
Find out what Jaysennia knew before she went missing
Make a solid plan to test the teleportation of Ta'lan Rah
