Session 11: Roper? I BEAR-ly Know Her!

General Summary

The party realized that the substance in the pool in Ta'lan Rah was likely Moonmilk, and began experimenting to determine its effects on the mushrooms. Theories on Gutpunch were posited. They spoke to Jaysennia about the paintings. She was intrigued by how well-preserved they were, and thinks they are sequential -- though Leaf suggested chronological order may be from mushroomed to cured rather than from healthy to diseased. She requested a sample of moonmilk from Ta'lan Rah.
While there, Emelia noticed the walls of the cave weren't the same -- starting from the lack of paint splatters on the wall down to minute differences in the grain of the rock. SNTR-1 noticed Conjuration magic in the area, but didn't find anything specifically magical. Moonmilk appeared not to instantly kill the mushrooms, but it did elicit an adverse response.
Gerry told Kopala that the fungus infestation has spread to the Temple of Kraa'thom, specifically the Tower of Chelor, which houses a narrow cenote connecting to the caves below town. When Kopala explained that the plague had extraplanar origins and likely came through the Astral Sea, Gerry told him about a person living in Chelu-ka (Settlement) who is from that plane and has inherent planar travel abilities named Khalog. Gerry also expressed struggling with his faith due to the infestation.
Ting brought the last requested book from The Lens of Oghma -- Magical Maladies, Demonic Diseases, and Extraplanar Epidemics: Techniques for the Identification, Classification, and Eradication of Extraordinary Plagues by Sol Dreadford.
Kopala spoke to Gern Tos to request he contact Khalog or others in Chelu-ka, and to advice the priest to quarantine/seal off the Tower.
The group then went to investigate the cellar at The Lodge, finding a crack in the wall. They burrowed through it into a cavern containing a Roper-like creature, which they killed. Leaf embraced his new druidic powers by first turning into a war doggo and then a big ol' bear. Kopala demonstrated healing capabilities far beyond what was necessary. Emelia managed to avoid friendly fire and produce a whole bunch of unfriendly fire. SNTR-1 stacked damage like pancakes at IHOP. We love to see it.
After the inevitable death burst of spores from the "Roper", the party noted that getting Dusted with said spores now also gave them Tremorsense (15 ft).

TLDR:

The Chelu-kaan are concerned about the infestation. A "Roper" was found and killed in the caves below town. Moonmilk was investigated.
