Sector 9

Sector 9 is a recently discovered military base of operations in the south section of Polarium sitting on the top edge of a massive cliff. This base is confirmed to serve the Polarian Rebels in many aspects, though the true purpose of the building as well as what goes on inside is not currently known. It is also unknown if this facility is the only location of military presence for the rebels, though the name suggests there are eight or more other compounds just like this one. The defenses of the base prove to Terracom scouts that Sector 9 is very important to the rebels, though for what purpose is not known.

Purpose / Function

Other than providing a powerful and well-defended base of operations for the Polarium Rebels including intelligence, the true purpose of Sector 9 is not known to Terracom, though the base is suspected of hiding damning secrets. The connected airstrip proves that vehicle maintenance detail is a huge role for this facility.

Defenses

The defenses of Sector 9 are most impressive. The exterior area around the main complex is outdoors, though built in a maze-like array to complicate infiltrators. Other than the strong often stolen military vehicles patrolling the areas with the soldiers, the outside of the facility is easy to observe from the rooftops, and therefore enforces greater monitoring. Both outside and inside doors are secured with biometric locks with an advanced alarm system. Sector 9 also has the natural defense of its location sitting on one of the tallest and steepest cliffs in Polarium, eliminating the possibility of a ground assault to the base. Only approachable by air, the facility is equipped with anti-air batteries and several long-range surface-to-air missile defense systems. Most aerial vehicles can only land on the airstrip, which is perfectly visible to all personnel and well within range of this defense system.
