Secrets of Mushisland

After detonating the bombs in the Reservoir of Knowledge in an attempt to drown/salt the fungi terrorizing Seeblick, a new small island was formed by a mushroom (presumably the MotherFungal). Why is it there, what are the ruins on it and what about the lichenposter??

Resolved (or at least as much as it can be for now)

The island is gone along wirh the Handmaiden of Rot. We believe it was a last ditch attempt of the fungi to survive.
