Oroks Species in Phenuxia | World Anvil

Oroks

Born from the flesh of the deceased Okor, God of Passion. These humanoid creatures are strong and very proficient in war, being closer in ancestry to the Hatred Emotionals of the Realm of Passion. Because of this many ancient races have passed down stories of the warmongering orcs, but they have since evolved. Although they are proficient in battle, they do not seek needless bloodshed anymore and instead seek enlightenment through combat.   When Okor was cast out of the heavens after an uncontrollable fit of rage, his flesh nourished the land and birthed in its swamps a new species, the Oroks. From the scraps of the god's bones the ancient Oroks carved small statues of the heroes of their violent conquests, which came to life with a sacrifice of Orok blood. These small living carvings were called goblins, and the terribly flawed creatures quickly escaped their Orok creators by tunneling underground, where they created their own civilization, living in fear of the oroks and doing whatever was required to survive, often scavenging, stealing, and killing.   The corner of the titan that grew and flourished from the life energies seeping out of Okor's corpse came to be known as Okor's Rest. This place became like a wild jungle, teeming with the remnants of Okor's power. The mythology of his fall also speaks of his eye falling far from the body, landing somewhere in the south and warping the nearby flora and fauna, causing the vegetation to take on a crimson hue.   There are two major kinds of Oroks. Those whose tusks protrude upwards from their bottom lip are called Orcs. Those whose fangs descend from their top row of teeth are called Vangk. For a long time, they have hated each other, the Orcs thought the Vangks were elitist, and the Vangk thought the Orcs were violent brutes.
That was until a human named Abby Normal appeared out of nowhere and learned much from both peoples, eventually brokering a lasting peace between the generations old rivals. This resulted in the creation of the first training center for martial arts to be instituted, a monastery named Riverfall. It was created as a symbol of the peace between the Vangk and the Orcs.
