Heartstone
A Heartstone or God-Gem is a type of enchanted gem that is imbued with the power of the gods. Specifally these gems are created by the followers of the God Seed Deities, usually by taking a gem considered holy by their organization and performing complicated rituals to give the gem powers tied to their god. Ranging in purpose by the deity they are tied to the Heartstones are Rare wondrous items that only the most devout of followers typically are in possession of.
Each gem usually has several abilities, a reoccuring power that recharges at dawn or a single instance of divine magic conjured by crushing the gem, destroying it in the process. Clerics and Paladins of one of these deities consider the Heartstones to be symbols of true divine favor and rightfully so as the gods who imbue them are in complete control of how many Gems are allowed to exist at any given time. Based on the rulings of the The Divine Designation it is generally assumed that only a dozen or so of each type can exist at any given time.

Manufacturing process
The process of making a Heartstone differs for each type and is detailed in their respective entries, however they don't always need to be constructed by mortals as the gods that hold power over the gems are more than capable of producing them and bestowing them upon their favorite worshippers. In fact it can generally be assumed that any Prime of the God Seed deities will have one of these Gems.
History
Many times throughout history, mighty deeds performed by the chosen of a god will likely have a Heartstone somewhere in the details. Whether or not the event is a great tragedy or a noble act is entirely dependant on the wielder and the will of the god the gem is tied to.
