Yssian Satrapies

When Drennón Tzolagar I conquered and unified all of Ys, each of the formerly independent states and their regions were remade into tributary vassal satrapies bound to the central satrap surrounding the new capital of Ys, Cheotlin.   At present there are ten satrapies including the capital region, Cheotlin. An eleventh, Ipo, refers to Yssian settlements in the wilds of Suvata. A Tzapli Yssian colony in Suvata, Ipo, was settled, and is claimed by Ys, but no official relations exist as travel to/from Suvata is nigh impossible. The Yssians of Ipo are considered lost, although nominally, if Ipo still exists, Tzolgarys claims it as part of the kingdom.

(E → W)
1. Tlatotl — the first settlement by the Tlatotlys; it is one of the oldest cities on Gruthe. It was named for the people; the region—Ys—then took its name from the terminal part of the peoples' name.
2. Tlatl — a later collection of smaller communities which grew together and formed a city state. It was formerly governed by a senate.
3. Garin-y̆-Gatlay — Ys' main port city. It was established after unification from a number of fishing communities.
4. Cheotlin — traditionally, the largest and wealthiest of Yssian city-states. It now serves as the capital and seat of the Tzolgarin Dynasts.
5. Chavanys — in the most fertile region of Ys, the city dedicated to the Black Earth Goddess provides foodstuffs for the entire region.
6. Iotlys —
7. Ysfet — a pharaonic city state built around the Citadel of Ysfet. Made vassals to Tzolagar at the end of the conflict.
8. Watloy —
9. Ipo'ter — successor satrap made predominantly from refugees from Ipo.
10. Xutwan —
11. Ipo — lost city. Settled by Tzapli Yssians from Ysfet, it was consumed by the jungles of Suvata.

Jade Yssian Home Glyph
Jade Green Yssian Glyph by 包德強
Jade colour is of a universal import. This glyph is found in the garden of pillars throughout Eastern Ys, predominantly among the Tzapli Yssians.

This particular rendering of the home-glyph is from a pillar garden in Ysfet near its border with the Suvatan wilds. The home-glyph represents the Yssian people, the region of Ys, and the seal of the Tzolgarin Dynasts who rule the nation. It is ubiquitous, particularly when carved in jade, or painted in jade colouring.
