The Tlatl Satrapy
Unlike the majority of the satrapies of the Tzolgarin Kingdom of Ys, the Tlatl Satrapy is governed by its senate which predates the kingdom and serves collectively as the satrap. It was the old republic senate which capitulated to the conquest of
Drennón Tzolagar I. Its nominal head speaker was given leave to govern in Tzolagar's stead provided of course annual tributes continued unabated and each of the living senators swore allegiance. Subsequent senators, as part of their ascension to their rank, had to swear loyalty to the Tzolagar dynasts.
After the dissolution of the daoSvor nation, the city state of Tlatl became a regional power. For reasons lost to antiquity, the rulers of the city chose to form a republic composed of heads of various noble houses. From then until the unification of Ys under Tzolagar, the Tlatli Senate were the rulers of their city-state and its region.
Climate
Warm and temperate, the Tlatl region is pleasant year-round. It is subject to a heavy rainy season which makes travel nigh impossible, but it is at most a two month-long stretch. Grain, fruit, and herding are successful under the warm sun and mild climate.
