Rheddaitéin (ʁɛθːɑjtejn)

Also known as the red dwarves, the Rheddaitéin (pronounced /ʁɛdɑɪteɪn/ in Raachern) live on and around an island kingdom called Rheddait located in Chaalai south of Hœm and another island kingdom, Jèrynn. The tribal name, Rheddaitéin, lit. means "the people/the kingdom of Rheddait." Unlike other dwarf tribes, the Rheddaitéin are accomplished fishers and sailors and they trade with their neighbours and the Mbaran Sea Peoples. Rheddaitéin shipwrights are often recruited by the Mbarans. Furthermore, the Rheddaitéin maintain that the origin of dwarvenkind—the il-Orah —was an island lost in time, whereas all other dwarven tribes maintain they have always been mainlanders.   Their common name stems from the preponderance of red hair, beards, and eyes. They have positive relations with the Illaohhéin dwarves of the Llaohh mountains, the Òrennéii dwarves, and speak highly of the distant other tribes of dwarfkind...with the exception of the Svor who are uniformly hated by other dwarf tribes.   Like all the Òrennéii and the Illaohhéin, the Rheddaitéin also have a gnome caste.

The il-Orah Pillars [banner]
The Three Pillars at Yurayurai by 包德強

When the il-Orah first arrived on PÈRYL, their initial settlement, deep in the caverns of what would be known as Sarn, was known as Daoc-nor. In its centre, was the holy site of the arrival and the three primary deities were honoured by three pillars. Over time the shrine became an elaborate temple called Yurayurai, and the entire city, its holy site, and the three pillars were called Daoc Yurayurai-nor.   The red, orange, black, and burgundy pillar was in honour of Bacchiah.
Opposite it was the blue, grey, white, and purple Pillar of Gréigh.
And between them the multihued, mulitcoloured, Pillar of Nanor.

Each of the Three Pillars were carved one single piece of a marble-like substance. It is lost to time as to where such stone was quarried as there are no such stone beds anywhere in Gruthe. It is suggested they were brought from wherever it was that originated the il-Orah, but even this is but speculation.
