Qh'ill Strait (qʰil)
The Northern Strait between Qh’énnshaiyn and Llaohh, is called by a portmanteau blend of the two regions' names. The southernmost part of Qh’ill includes Sarn, Garnère, and touches the other Mỳdri channel islands. The lengthier, more formal Qh’énnish, name is, Ō-eth-Qh’ill /oːʷɛθqʰil/, lit. “the Great Water between Qh’énnshaiyn and Llaohh.” The medial vowel /i/ is likely a borrowing from the conflation of the blue ice dwarf tribe/kingdom name Illaohh, with the region Llaohh.
Localized Phenomena
The waters in and around the narrow strait Qh'ill are famously prone to doldrums and infrequent winds. Closer to the Qh'énnish gulf is euphemistically called "Timelessness."
