The Mỳdri (mɑɪdɹi)

The Qh'ill Channel Islands

In the straits between Qh'nnshaiyn and Llaohh regions, is an archipelago called the Mỳdri, or the Qh'ill Channel Islands. The two large, prominent ones, Sarn & Garnère—at the mouth of the Gulf of Mỳdr—are the most significant among hundreds of other smaller islands.   The Mỳdri were settled by farmers and fishers, many of whom began as Mỳdrian refugees. An endemic population of earlier settlers, the Sarnish, dominate the larger islands but have lived peacefully with Mỳdrians and later Qh'énnish mainlanders who sought an outpost against Ptarshakk.   The Mỳdri housed the Mỳdrian splinter group, the Daukbr, and during the Third Ptarshakkian War, they were instrumental in Ptarshakk's capture of the islands and the stronghold in the Hwarna Canton on Sarn.   After the armistice of the Autumn of 409 QA, the conquered area became known as Ptien Midar and made the thirteenth province of Ptarshakk and it encorporated the Channel Islands, Port Mỳdr, Mara and portions of Rhenn and Annhr baronies on the mainland.

Ptien Midar
by 包德强
The initial establishment of Ptien Midar by the Grand Army of the Ptarshakkian Empire breached the meagre defenses of Port Mỳdr and then pushed further inland. Although the Ptarshakkian Field Marshal Biwas ab'Daenae never made it to Qh'énnshaiyn proper, she called her captured demesne, "Ptien Midar," Ptarshakkian calque for Port Mỳdr.
