Augustus Reed, the Emperor of The Reed Empire. The last true emperor. Some called him Foolish, others wise. He saw the doom of the Empire, the problems rooted within it. He declared the war on the Skała Tribe, and learned that maybe one day they could be allies.

Personal history
The Son of Emperor Ahearn, who fought in the Great Vampire War for the containment of Evil. This left The Reed Empire in a sorry state, in dire need of rebuilding. Augustus was born in SwampsShore, his mother died during child birth. He was the only child of Ahearn, who following old Reed law couldn't remarry.
He was enrolled into the Virtue Academy to learn the ways of Politics, History and Combat. He excelled in all three of the subjects. In his combat studies, he was more of a fighter than a strategist. He was the top student in his class, other students often found him to be arrogant but that was often the case with those destined for great power.
When he turned 12, Ahearn told him a very serious truth about House Reed. The story of Deathbane. He told the story of Gazza and his Sorcery (It was not Magic, that was false and tricks, Sorcery was the true power in Old Crannogman), how he forged the ancient blade using ancient ways lost to time. He told him about Tivius "The Sorcerer" Reed and how he found a way to improve the ax. How he combined it with the power of Evil to forge a mightier Empire. The story scared Augustus but he realized what the ax symbolized and how nobody should know about the real truth, except those who deserve to know.
Augustus became a Soldier in the Reed Army, much to his fathers dismay. Ahearn feared that Augustus would get killed and leave the Empire without an heir. However, Augustus distinguished himself in the field of battle. He was praised by his superiors and fellow soldiers. Without any special treatment, he gained the title of Commander in the Reed Army. He was specialized in the ways of Horse mounted combat, and lead his own cavalry division.
However, his father died before he could go any further. Augustus became the emperor of one of the largest powers in Pentos.
He had two children. Twin Sons. The eldest was older by only a minute. The eldest was named Duncan and the youngest was named Argyle.
He had a prosperous reign, rebuilding and restoring the Old Empire. However this faltered, the Skała Tribe was constantly raiding the Reedlands out of retaliation of their first contact. Augustus couldn't let it go on any longer and - underestimating his enemy - took the Sentinels (then a Heavy Armor Division) to meet the Skała on the field of combat in a open fight.
They met in a unknown Valley which would later be named the Valley of Valour. Both sides set up camp on opposite sides of the Forest. Eventually, the Skała sent a message to have a meeting at midnight.
It is unknown what they discussed, however Augustus apparently had a newfound respect for the Skała people. He knew that war would be the certain, but perhaps one day they could be true allies.
The Battle of Valour was the final battle that Augustus ever fought. He was apparently the last Reed soldier living. His trust of the Skała people was his alone, and the other Reeds saw this battle as brutal aggression of Tribals. His ideas of friendship with the Skała Tribe took centuries to take root and only recently has it been truly considered.
