Battle of Valour

The Conflict

Prelude

The Reed Empire started a rivalry with the Skała Tribe in their first meeting, seeing them as foreign tribals seeking new land to ruin and decay. In reality, they were survivors of a horrific event that broke their former Empire. The Skała Tribe started raids on Reed territory in retaliation and for the resources they held. This started Anti-Skała sentiment in the Reed people, the public desired war. Emperor Augustus Reed didn't see the Skała Tribe as a threat, simple nobodies who could be easily wiped out. He sent the pride of the Reed Army, the Sentinels to eliminate them in a single battle. This was the start of the Battle of Valour.
Before the beginning of the battle, a Skała emissary approached the Reed camp - weaponless. He places a letter at the gate of the camp and rides off. The letter said:
"At Midnight, meet at the center of the Valley."
Emperor Augustus Reed accepted the proposal put forward. He responded with a message of his own, it said:
"Even when a opponent seems lesser, Honour must be upheld."
When midnight dawned, two parties met in the middle of the valley. 
The meeting between Augustus and Kasimierez established both a common ground and a divide. Both sides came out with a newfound respect for their adversary. It is said in legend that they discussed secrets that hadn't been truly spoken. The debate of Honour and Culture, the first time the Reeds and Skała truly understood each other. But the Battle would commence at dawn nonetheless.

Deployment

The Reed Sentinels had formed a Calvary charge at the entrance of their camp. Emperor Augustus Reed, marched in front of the men with his elite division.

Battlefield

A field surrounding by a forest on all sides, hills dot the horizon. Far to the East are mountains, snow-topped.

Conditions

Foggy, misty field. Rains occasionally. Mud is commonplace.

The Engagement

The battle was a slaughter for both sides. However, the Reeds suffered the most. They had underestimated their enemy, seen them as tribal savages.
The main charge was the bloodiest, the Horses clashed with the Skała infantry
They fought until the last man, Augustus Reed is said to be the last man standing, it has been told that in his last moments he realized that the Reed Empire was destined to fail and maybe Pentos would be better for it.
