Humans

The first Mind, the oldest race in the world. They are the template, the inspiration, for all other races.

Their initial creation and oldest history are the same as the Animalians, being created and favoured by the Animalian King and inspiring the creation of others, the Elves, the Lysa and so on. Only for the other animals to grow jealous and mutate into their own mockery of a Mind, to then start a war.

Humans were set to be eradicated by The Amix, but then the Animalian King came to aid through sorrow and worry and made a select few into what would be known as the Animalians - who would then fight to protect them and eventually go up against their enemy on equal footing.

Humans became a separate people over time as the threat lessened and their once enemy, the Amix, turned their ire onto the Animalians - for their continued favour of the Animalian King.

From there, culture and civilisation split apart from the Animalians as the two essentially became two branches off the same ancestor tree, two different subraces. They keep to their own in the current day but there is an unstated understanding they would still look out for one another (you could say they're siblings with a large age gap).

With a tendency to not sit still, to traverse, settle and conquer a challenge, humans have an air of almost restlessness that can test the patience of others. They are vastly diverse in adapting, ambitions, culture, morals and personality - as they should, being the template for all others who have come to narrow down one pathway or another. No, humans are not restricted, even by shorter lifespans than say Elves or Dhargen, they make sure to leave an impression that lasts and many live for the present.

Although this can drive other races up the wall as well, especially for a tendency to forget themselves in relation to other forces such as nature, they are inherently born good and giving, but they mold their surroundings as easily as it molds them.

Features

Fit in Anywhere

For being the first and longest-standing race on the planet, Humans can and have wormed their way into just about every location. Even where they are less common, it is not too outside the realm of belief to see one around anyway. After all, they adapt and adapt again, they'll make do with any conditions as long as it's survivable and learn quick as anything. It's not entirely unfair to call them the cockroaches of the races for their persistence and resistance to being stomped out (it's maybe out of respect for being the first Mind that they are not in fact referred to as such).
