Mommet

Exterminati are mommet constructs originally created for purposes of the penaga's war. They have no thoughts or feelings or morals of their own; and follow what they are told. While many may look different, they do follow similar templates:
  • They are never not fighting
  • They have no flesh or real skin
  • A semi-persistent aureole obscures them
The most common machines I've seen retain a mantis shape with arms ending in their weapon of choice. comment from a Laplwyd
  • Equipment

    Black Sphere

The mommets of the exterminatus are severely restricted in movement when being directly observed. If it is not being watched, or cannot be seen, it can take its turn after at the end of every other's turn. No one knows why this is, though speculation is that it is a psychological tactic. Two opponents may coordinate while watching a mommet and do not need to make the saving throw, but have disadvantage on attacking anything other than that mommet.   In order to circumvent this weakness, a light draining device is inbeded in a mommet's chest that creates a 200ft sphere of pure blackness for it to freely move and engage targets in total darkness.   This black sphere does not move with them, however. It stays in place for a maximum of 10 minutes before dispelling, and the mommet freezes in place once again. It is impossible to see through, and anyone attempting to pass into it must make a DC 18 CON check or take 6d6 damage, which is halved on a success.

    Weaponry

    Melee Weapons

The exterminatus are often seen with swords, staffs, spears, rings or the rare wing in one hand or as grafted onto their very bodies. Otherwise, they can deliver 10d10+5 bludgeoning damage and grapple the target (escape DC 19). The target remains grappled even if the mommet is paralyzed. If a mommet attacks a grappled target, they take double damage.

    Vehicles

    Missile Delivery

Any kind of rocket, of sufficient size, can be used to load a mommet as a payload into a boarding missile. They provide a rapid and effective means of infiltrating hostile territory, allowing surprise attacks, capturing enemy commanders, disabling vital systems or retrieving valuable information.

    Structure

    First Choir

The mommet of the exterminatus closely resemble large buildings, similar to Maṛaiyar, with common body plans of interlocking rings, blade-like protrusions and intangible spheres. They often acted as mobile self-defending platforms capable of housing several smaller military units within itself or on its surface.
    Support
  • Advantage on WIS (PER) checks, saving throws and cannot be surprised
  • Lies are impossible within 3000ft: ability scores and stats become known
  • Within 60 feet, enemies have disadvantage on ability checks and attack rolls until the end of the next turn.
  • At 120ft range, 2d8+8 piercing damage + 2d8 fire damage
  • Hostiles that can see must make a DC 22 WIS saving throw at the start of each turn, or take 4d8 fire damage and be frightened for 1 minute. Targets can repeat the saving throw at the end of their turns. After which they are immune to the frightened effect for the next 24 hours, on a successful save.
  • Hostile targets within 60 ft that can hear must make a DC 22 CON saving throw or take 12d10 radiant damage, or half on a success. On a fail, they are also afflicted with one of the following conditions for 1 minute. Roll a d4 to determine:
    1. Blinded
    2. Charmed
    3. Stunned
    4. Paralyzed
They can repeat the saving throw at the end of each turns.
  • If this is focused on just one target within 120 ft, the target must make a DC 22 CON saving throw or take 13d10 radiant damage, or half on a success. On a fail, they are afflicted with two conditions outlined above.
  •
  • On a 6 d6 , hostile targets within 100 feet must make a DC 22 CON saving throw or take 14d10 radiant damage, or half on a success. On a fail, targets are also afflicted with all four conditions in the seraph’s song for 1 minute. They can repeat the saving throw at the end of each turn.
  •

    Second Choir

Escort guards with an alien but symmetrical body frame to more easily perceive and react to things around them.
    Frontline
  • Advantage on saving throws
  • Hostiles that see must make a DC 18 WIS saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. They can repeat the saving throw at the end of each turn. After which they are immune to this ability for the next 24 hours.
  • Within a 30ft sphere, targets must make a DC 18 CON saving throw or take 6d8 radiant damage. Half on a success. In addition, until the end of the next turn, all damage inflicted becomes the highest number possible for each die instead of actually rolling the die.
    • For example, instead of rolling the [2d10 + 6] slashing damage, it is 26 damage. This effect must end before any other ability can be activated.
  • Summon smaller d4-1 duplicates with the same stats, but with 12 AC and 1 hp
  •

    Third Choir

Field mommets tend to be the tall humanoid-looking version those from Bhulok, Cranberry and Laplot think about.
However, the mita that makes up their bodies retain a dreamlike feature that varies the details of the physical appearance according to who is looking at them. This makes it difficult for outside parties to track the missions and total exterminati an organization might have access to.

    Tactics

    Areal Denial

Within 25ft of a designated area, attacks against an exterminati are made with disadvantage.

    Inspire Paranoia

Attempts to continually watch an exterminati without blinking require a DC 10 CON saving throw at the beginning of each turn. The DC increases by 1 on subsequent saves.   On a fail, the mommet may immediately interrupt the PC's turn (unless another is watching it).

    Mobile

An exterminati can move at half speed and attack a surprised enemy immediately.

    Logistics

    Recruitment

    Manufacture

While it is known that mita is spun from borowas, it is not precisely known who, or from where, the surviving exterminati gained their form. It may be that they predate the first penaga, they were forcibly commissioned by Maṛaiyar or a secret group continues to manufacture them.

    History

    Historical loyalties

    Maṛaiyar

Elite squads were often deployed as part of his armies' vanguard or special operations behind enemy lines.

    Temporal Agency

Entirely circumstantial evidence can be found to suggest that the gavains uave one or two in reserves.

    Hexumvirate

Few can be certain of the quality of their resources, but given their cross-dimensional foothold, it would not be out of place for them to have at least one.
