Session 17: With Flying Colors Report in Pathfinder Pirates | World Anvil

Session 17: With Flying Colors

General Summary

The city of Esther is treated to a parade of prisoners as we all haul ass through the streets to try and get back to the ship. Nothing can ever be simple (especially when you incite a prison riot), so our already battered selves have to endure more punishment. Guards are rushing into the crowd to get at us and as we fight our way out of this mess, Owkbanok goes down. Nobody wants or should leave him behind, so I threaten some of the others to help carry him back, but my words offend at least two of them. They don’t get a chance to come at me as Amelia sees them and throws two zombies their way and off we go. Unfortunately for all of us, the guards have set up an ice wall by the docks to cage us in so our sweet freedom is still so far away.     Amelia goes incorporeal and slips right through without much of an issue, but the rest of us still have to find a way around. As I go to take out one of the guards, I aim back too far and elbow one of our allies in the ribs. He jumps as I had threatened to kill him earlier and lets go of Owkbanok. The other prisoner carrying him didn’t anticipate this move and drops him completely…right onto TT. She’s trapped and panicking because she can’t push him off. So as soon as the prisoners pick him back up and are given directions to the ship, TT takes off and I follow after in raven form as both of our self-preservation instincts have kicked into overdrive. The majority of us, including Owk, make it back to the ship and before the guards can even process the chaos we wrought; we get the new crew into position and sail off.     After me and the cleric patch up Owkbanok and get him to his room, TT and Amelia get embroiled in an argument as per usual and decide tomorrow’s the perfect day for a duel. Finally, they’ll be able to figure out their much needed social hierarchy and the rest of us get free entertainment! But once the moment arrives and bets are placed, this duel is the most uneventful thing to grace our planet. Amelia goes incorporeal and TT goes invisible. For awhile, nothing even happens and the crowd is bored out of their minds. Finally, TT stabs Amelia and puts an end to our misery so our lives can go on. We go get some lunch and the new crew gets a rousing speech from Owkbanok as he tells their rowdy asses to calm the fuck down and get in line. Somebody threatens to take TT’s job and we’re all offended by the comment. I threaten to kill that guy for his blatant disrespect and Antic hits him with surprise pocket sand right to his stupid face.     With so many new faces, we need more weapons to make sure they can all defend themselves. So before setting off for Valimar, we stop into the small port town of Ricoult. Unfortunately, the military in Esther is on the lookout for us as a ship is docked here and flying their colors. We drop our flags and throw up some new colors so we can slip in and get what we need without issue. Me and Zoey go hunting to bring back some animals for trade, TT asks around to find some ways to make quick coin, and Owkbanok and Amelia have a touching heart-to-heart before stumbling upon a wanted poster for our ship. The bounty? 50,000 gold total. Once we all meet back on the ship, a meeting’s called for those of us in the upper crew to figure out what to do about this problem and the captain’s answer is simple.     Raid the enemy ship and steal their colors. We’ll keep ourselves disguised as a ship of their fleet until we’re out of their waters. We decide that we’ll sink the ship first and send somebody under the waves to fetch all of that afterwards to ensure they don’t chase after us. So with all of us in agreement, TT and Amelia swim over and slip aboard to find suitable victims to become exploding zombies. Me and Cayde sneak off onto the streets in case they need backup. And Owkbanok and Nathan wait aboard our ship for Amelia’s signal so they can throw magic and bombs the enemy ship’s way. As per usual though, nothing ever goes as planned. Both TT and Amelia are caught sneaking around the ship and as they successfully lie about how their father works the docks and they stole a key to get on, these guards think they’re nothing more than lost children. One of them personally escorts them off and walks them home, giving me enough time to put an arrow in this poor woman’s head.     She immediately starts throwing up and goes to give chase after me, but TT and Cayde finish mauling her before she gets too far. With her best gear looted and keys to the ship acquired in case we need them, Amelia now has a single exploding zombie at her disposal. We need to find a way to get this zombie to the bottom of the boat, so I’m left in charge of that. Before I dive down and get her in place, Amelia gives her the command to begin killing herself as destruction of her body is the only way to trigger her explosion. So with our bomb in place, I hurry out of the water as she begins stabbing herself over and over while Amelia shoots off the flare.     With the signal seen, Owkbanok sets a flaming sphere loose on the top deck of this ship while Nathan throws his bombs over.
