Session 14: Pimp My Ride Report in Pathfinder Pirates | World Anvil

Session 14: Pimp My Ride

General Summary

With papers, magic, and flesh acquired; we head back to the ship to start plotting our next course of action. While I take some time to clean up Lux’s back and prepare it for some magical cartography, TT takes the war papers to our captain to figure out what exactly to do with them. Amelia takes this time to get reacquainted with her room, probably totally clutching that dirty sponge I left on her pillow months ago close to her heart as she’s finally home. She goes off to have a talk with Owkbanok, finding him in his own room as he’s been transcribing spells for the past few hours. She asks whose idea it was to track her down and he tells her how it was a joint effort. Me and him wanted her back on the crew, whereas TT wanted her back to stab her at first, but either way; Amelia is secretly touched and thankful that we found her.     As she leaves, TT catches up to her and is unusually chipper as she talks of how great it is to have Amelia back on board. But then she gives her a handshake, telling her if she ever betrays us again, then we’ll kill her; attempting to follow that up by jabbing the hilt of her dagger into Amelia’s back. But she catches on quickly, thinking that TT’s gonna cash in on that free stabbing she was itching to give out and goes to punch her. It’s a terrible slapstick moment that ends with nobody managing to hit each other while TT tries to play it off like it’s okay to vaguely threaten people and with neither of them coming to an agreement, the jury’s still out on that one, folks. With that, Amelia is back to scrubbing decks until lunchtime to get her job back.     Once everybody settles in for lunch, I get to stroll into the room with my demented skin map and slap it on the table for the party to see. Lux’s memories marked two locations on her back, the cave and a spot in the middle of a continent a few weeks away. Figuring the papers were the treasure in the cave, we can knock that one off the list and focus our attention on the other, figuring out that the continent it’s on is a place called Valimar. With that settled, we now have to figure out what to do with these papers. TT thinks we should use them to blackmail the nobles into giving us the navy she’s been pining for ever since we acquired Jacksonville, but the rest of us aren’t so keen on becoming a military faction or being affiliated with any government as we’re all wanted criminals. So we decide to sell the papers off so we can get the hell out of dodge and flee to the seas near Valimar.     If we flee Lorcop though, Jacksonville will be repossessed, so while it’s a hard decision to come to, we decide to sell the city off before we leave as well. After a week of sailing, we reach Jacksonville once more and take it all in as we’ll likely never see it again for some time. Plastered all over the town are wanted posters for Amelia, a 20k gold bounty on her head if she’s returned to King Remaldi Dragonslayer whether she be dead or alive. TT asks if we can finally collect on that bounty, to which Amelia gets offended and asks if we can collect on TT’s. TT blurts out her past as a slave and how she’ll be returned to that life if somebody finds her, so we all sit in stunned, awkward silence for a good few minutes. After moving past that, we all know it’s time for Amelia to dye her hair yet again and throw out some suggestions. Nathan thinks red would be a good color for her while TT thinks she should go platinum blonde like her own hair.     I suggest pure white, to which Amelia asks if I mean white like an angel. I tell her she’s already an angel, which seems to sell it more and it’s decided. White hair it is. We decide to ask Eustace what to do with the war papers and he also fills us in that the rival pirates that attacked our darling Jacksonville were hired by the kingdom of Lathroli, whose leader has wanted to reclaim Carlo Rose and was also mentioned in these papers. While Eustace is disappointed in us for deciding to dip out on our town, he happily pays a nice chunk of coin to buy it from us, as well as the war papers and with that; we finally have enough coin to fix up our ship and turn this session into Pimp My Ride. Before leaving, we pick up my sister and I catch up with her and go over what her duties on the ship will before we set sail for a better port town to get our well needed upgrades.     Instead of upgrades though, we agree on buying a new ship entirely, getting ourselves a nice galleon, but now we have a problem. We don’t have nearly enough manpower to work this ship; so instead of setting sail for Valimar, we now have to scramble to put together a 60+ person crew. We figure we can gather a good bunch of them here in the port town, so our first plan of action is to look around the seedier parts of town and recruit anyone looking for work. Once we’ve gotten all we can from that, we’ll also debate on some potential jail breaks or interrupting some public executions.
