Braheem

To the south of the Kalashtar territory, a small village sits next to a wet fertile reed bed. It lays as a last waypoint before the Tomb of Iseret and port of return for travelers making their way down the theuban river. The village here is placed upon stilts, the sandstone dome buildings on wooden platforms, made from the trunks of tropical palms, tied with twine from possessed reeds.

Government

A small three person council consisting of a politician, a local priest and the currently stationed guard captain, work together to decide the affairs of the village.

Defences

A detachment of 20 Kalashatar Guards watch over the village and are rotated out once a month, the captain is rotated out once every 3 months.

Industry & Trade

Barges that arrive here cannot sale back up, so they are bought and converted into sand sleds or skimmers.   Reeds are often harvested here to make parchment.   Because of the narrowing of the river, fishing is very ample here. The narrow river funnels fish in tightly to the cities netted floating/anchored platforms. Due to the river only flowing one direction, its fairly common for locals to buy barges off travelers or charge a fee to convert them into sand sleds or skimmers. Hunters here also take risky trips out into the hunting grounds every so often and may have interesting goods to trade.

Assets

Fishery, and floating platforms.

History

Originally founded as an outpost for travelers to pay respect to the nearby Tomb of Iseret.

Architecture

To catch passing barges there are floating platforms that help hook and reel them in. The village sits on stilts to help it with any flooding from the river, and it's buildings are rounded/domed withstand sandstorms. As a result, structures are usually two stories, with the bottom story allowing for passage through. It's common to find tunnel shops, or gathering places on the first story of most buildings.
