Elector Lord Delphina Iseldia, of Hoat
The current Elector Lord of Hoat, Delphina has only been ruling for three years, gaining the title on the death of her father, Sabina Iseldia who had only reigned for 8 years. Most of Delphina's life was spent under her the rule of her grandfather, Bernice.
She is considered a shrewd and astute individual, highly focused on matters of trade and ships, and as such has the ear of the Emperor, Til-Lautor despite them being from traditionally rival houses. She has four children and has been using her influence in the Imperial Court to get her second eldest, Caepasia, into a position where she stands a good chance to be elected the next Emperor.

Personal history
Born in the Hoat capital of Iseld in 1862, Delphina was an only child, her mother dying during her childbirth. Her father was often in council with her grandfather, Bernice, who suffered from occasional bouts of mental health issues that rendered him incapable of ruling. This, coupled with an unconscious level of blame from Sabina towards his daughter for her mother's death, meant that Delphina was largely raised by a succession of care-givers and tutors.
A high point in her early life was travelling to Belyos for the election of a new Emperor in 1883, an experience that gave her a long-lasting admiration for the Imperial Court and the city of Belyos itself. Her grandfather was considered too ill to actually cast his vote, so Sabina was there to perform the task in his place.
Her grandfather finally died, aged 81, in 1895 and her father took the lordship of Hoat, but died of a sudden illness aged 73 after only eight years in the position. Delphina found herself suddenly thrust into the role, with four children all aged under eight years old. Determined not to neglect her children's upbringing like her father had done with her, she juggles the needs of the state with that of being a mother.
In 1902, she allowed her second eldest, aged only seven, to be fostered in the Imperial Palace. Her hope is that she will grow up surrounded by the trapping of the Imperial Throne, and learning how the Imperial Court functions. The current emperor Til-Lautor is only 59, and assuming he will live another 15 to 20 years, will put Caepasia in a prime position to be a suitable candidate.
