Rumour at court is that
Viziera Damasque Laureat, wife of
Vizier Absalom Laureat, has been involved in some kind of Forbidden Summoning rituals - possibly
Divs.
At court both Absalom and Damasque Laureat are given a wide bearth, but the same treatment isn't extended to
Satine Dargent-Laureat, who is married to
Subvizier Victor Dargent, and therefore under the protection of the
Dargent Family.
Lindie steals
Johann(a)'s Notes, in which Damasque Laureat is mentioned alongside
Sweeney's Razor. The razor is described as containing something
genie-like but not star-tied, indicating that it actually a
Div. Lindie discovered that the inhabitant of the razor was a div who goes by
Sweeney.
Vizier Cobbler Bakerstreet calls a
Whisper Vote on both
Damasque and
Absalom Laureat (along with
Kronk Greenskin). Cobbler believes Damasque has been commiting criminal summonings, although he doesn't believe she is responsible for the
Shakes disease sweeping the court. Damasque would have been banished without interference anyway, but
Lindie Asklepa secretly set up Absalom so that Cobbler's "spare" son,
Cody Bakerstreet saw what he believed to be Absalom, disposing of a golden hand with a series of magical rings on it, some of them extremely illegal magic. Cody took the hand to his father, who immediately believed he had been tricked by Absalom and so ensured that both Laureat parents were banished in the vote.
