The Dread Aerie

The Dread Aerie is a haunting ruin, perched high atop the Sandwater Mountains. Once a sacred temple dedicated to Airylth, the Dragon Goddess of Biting Winds and Cold, the structure now stands as a decaying monument to a bygone era.
The temple is a complex of stone structures, carved into the mountainside. A grand staircase leads up to the main entrance, flanked by two colossal statues of dragons. The interior of the temple is a labyrinth of corridors and chambers, adorned with intricate carvings and murals depicting the power and majesty of Airylth. The once-vibrant colors of the murals have faded over time, leaving behind ghostly outlines.
During the Chain Breaker War, the Velorians, in their quest to break the power of the dragons, launched an attack on the Dread Aerie. They sought to free the dragon's thralls, who were imprisoned within the temple. However, the thralls, loyal to their dragon overlord, chose a different fate. Rather than submit to the invaders, they leaped from the precipice, embracing a tragic and ultimately senseless death. The temple, once a place of reverence and power, was left abandoned and desolate.
