Trial of the Akramak

The Orcs were originally referred to as the Akramak. They were a monstrous species created by Father Time. They were more similar to the trolls and giants of modern-day Othealia. The Akramaks were larger and more compact in stature. They also had an inborn need for destruction and violence. This was given to them in Father Time's attempt to balance the natural chaos and destruction of the world. Unfortunately, he built the Akramak too powerful and they almost destroyed multiple civilizations.    Eventually, due to the carnage stemming from their embedded wish for destruction, it was debated whether or not they should be altered or abandoned. This was known as the Trial of the Akramak. It was heavily discussed among the Eighteen, creating divisions between the gods. This defined who was seen as caring and heartless amongst the gods. These ideas are still present today. The most vocal on the side of abandonment included Gachie, Cassandra, and Aethre. On the side of redemption included Cordelia, Moradin, and Shiri. Eventually, after arguments and debates that lasted years, the case of perseverance, redemption, and the innate beauty of creation won over the majority of the Eighteen, and the Akramak were reformed.   The Eighteen gave the Akramak humanity and compassion. They were renamed as the orcs. They were of smaller and leaner stature and their thirst for destruction was quelled by empathy and compassion. They also adopted more humanoid appearances to better assimilate with their longer-standing humanoid counterparts. This change occurred thousands of years ago (should there be fantasy racism?? *_*) and now the orcs are seen as an original race in mortal histories.   Last Edited By: Onyx
