Orc
The orcs are a semi-orginal race created by Father Time. They were first created as monstrous figures close to trolls and hill giants but tended to be much more muscular and condensed in stature. Originally referred to as the Akramak.
Due to the carnage caused by the Akramak, the Eighteen gave the Akramak humanity and compassion. This was decided through an event referred to as the Trial of the Akramak. They were renamed as the orcs. They were of smaller and leaner stature and their thirst for destruction was quelled by empathy and compassion. They also adopted more humanoid appearances to better assimilate with their longer-standing humanoid counterparts. This change occurred tens of thousands of years ago and now the orcs are seen as an original race in mortal history.
Due to the Seabed Sorceress' input in the Trial of the Akramak, children of orcs and tritonhave a relatively small chance of being born as her Chosen, a powerfully built group of orcs with the heads of fish, mounted sideways to allow them to see forward. They have no benefits or detriments over a normal orc-triton other than reduced body fat, increased muscle mass, and, most notably, susceptibility to hearing her voice at critical points in their lives.
Now the average orc has a large build and often dark hair. Many have notable tusks that rise from their jaw. Some orcs however lack tusks due to genetic variation, while others choose to file theirs down. Tusks do not act as teeth but are more similar to horns or hooves, in that filing them is not a painful task, merely an uncomfortable one. Another notable feature of orcs is the tones of their skin. While there is natural variation, orcs tend to be shades of purple, yellow, or most commonly green. They age at about the same rate as humans, living roughly 120 years.
Traditional orc culture highly values a sense of community and strength. In early Othealia, after the Trail of the Akaramak, orcs tended to be nomadic and that led to a natural flexibility within orc communities. Despite this flexibility, once welcomed into a predominantly orc community individuals are treated as if they grew up together.
As a result of their larger stature rough-housing and performance is a very core aspect of traditional orc culture. It is very often that performances comparable to pro-wrestling or lucha libra displays can be seen in the center of an orc-dominate city or festival.
