Arcanic Falls
The Arcanic Falls is a wonder of modern wizardry and artificical technique. This paradise below the Frozen Plate is a city that has been carved out of the ocean itself. The water is only held back by impossibly intricate and powerful arcane runes that line the ocean floor. This paradise is the most recent city-state to be founded on Countillan, excluding Vistovia, only beginning construction 130 years ago and opening its teleportation hub in 6682.
The entire city is an arcane marvel and has the newest and most upcoming inventions and magic. The School of the Falls rivals the Threads of Amber in its knowledge. Most of the city is made up by humans, elves, and the triton that helped build it while the runes were being placed. Because of its odd nature, the city only holds 8.2 million but is rapidly expanding resulting in smaller rings being made to house the new mages that arrive.
The triton and sea elves that once lived in this city are being forced out of their homes in favor of the new arcane apprentices. Not to mention those who lived before and had their homes collapsed, as they did not account for the force of gravity when underwater construction occurred.
The city is led by a democratically elected president and there are two mage-led councils.
The Arcanic Falls's current leader is a younger power-hungry mage named Johanas Scrabart. He is an incredibly intelligent mage who studied the arts of Abjuration and Transmutation. He is a young half-elf and has short silky black hair. He is a short man and he is often seen wearing a dark blue suit that takes elements of mage robes into its design. He is inconsiderate, wealthy, and only has his eye on progress, not caring for who he steps on in the process. He is only the third president of the Arcanic Falls. His father was the first president, founder, and lead financer of the Arcanic Falls.
The ambassitor of the Arcanic Falls, who holds a seat on the Court of Countillan, is Jack Caston a mage who grew up alongside President Scrabart and has a similar level of privilege. Caston is a pudgy man with blond hair and a thick beard. He too dresses in a similar suit to President Scrabart's except he wears his in greys and it tends to be a bit more disheveled. Caston is known in the higher circles of mages to be a risk-taker and a partygoer. He is often seen as irresponsible and to say he acquired everything in his life through nepotism would not be far from the truth. Although he is still a gifted wizard and very notable, especially being so young. The architecture in the city uses the natural water sources to their advantage. Much of it has coral and sea stones as elements of its design but as more mages arrive the architecture becomes more abstract. There is also a lot of greenery and water that flows throughout the city. There are many controlled waterfalls throughout the city to relieve the pressure put on the runes. Many invasive species now live in the falls due to the influx of people from areas outside the frozen plate. This has led to much of the naturally occurring sea life, that is not "pretty" enough, to be hunted to endangerment. Notable people of Arcanic Falls
