Wall Blossom

As a gift to his people Sovereign Iya sacrificed his life in an attempt to prevent further planar incursions within Iya. However many believe in his parting that he suffused the land and the Great Wall with his essence. Thus when a strange magical plant began to grow only along and on the Great Wall, many Iyans saw it as a second gift.

The Wall Blossom as it is commonly called is a unique plant to Iya. Its fruit is a flower that shines radiantly and is delicate and fragile and its roots are thick and vine-like with many leaves that are thin to the touch but sturdy. The fruit has special healing properties and serves as a panacea for most ailments and is rumored to extend the life of the one who consumes it. However the leaves of the plant are plentiful and contain no healing properties, instead the leaf fibers are strong enough to withstand threading and therefore are used to weave cloth used in clothing, decoration, tents, etc.

Once the fruit is harvested successfully or not, the plant dies. Due to this, the Federation strictly forbids anyone from harvesting the fruit of the Wall Blossom but permits harvesting the leaves. Within sector D1, the few Wall Blossoms are closely guarded and maintained, only approved harvesters are allowed in the vicinity. In the Lost Sectors where they are more bountiful due to being undisturbed by Iyans for centuries, any Wall Blossom found during an expedition is a big payout to the Wayfinder that is able to give its coordinates upon return. However finding a Wall Blossom during an expedition is usually a dangerous and harrowing affair as the planar incursions ravage on.

Beautiful plant, and I bet people who are sick find it hard to resist harvesting the flower!
